my friend I passed the interview and I was not allowed to speak a single word in English so still you have time to study French . the level required is delf b1. if you married your spouse should prove that she speaks French minimum delf a2.

My situation is a little strange. My Husband is the primary applicant who just started learning French(basically, he can introduce himself now). Hopefully, he will come up to A2 level in 6 months from now provided the interview is not before that. I am the spouse and I have cleared DELF B1 a few months ago. I'm comfortable with French.
so do you think I could handle the majority of the interview ? Or will the questions be directed specifically towards the main applicant.

In my own case the interview was set to about 8 to 12 weeks after the receipt of the proper interview invite, but going by mft25's post above I guess it varies with VO and with number of pending cases for interview. Just take the time you have in your hands to keep preparing for the interview, everything will go well.

each one should answer his questions . I remember when officer asked my husband a question and when I try to answer it she stopped me. let you husband concentrate on oral before the interview. if he has delf a2 I think he can manage .

Thanks mft! Well, my husband is preparing fo A1 level now. I don't think he can reach A2 level if the interview happens in 2-3 months. For some reason, if the interviews happen more than 4 months from now then he will be on his way to A2. I am planning to prepare for B2 in the meanwhile. However, I am not the main applicant.

I'm wondering what the language of the interview would be especially for a person like my husband, who is only A1 level.

Thanks mft! Well, my husband is preparing fo A1 level now. I don't think he can reach A2 level if the interview happens in 2-3 months. Hi mft, Thanks . Yes, we have the option of Private Tutoring in mind. right now he is focussing on learning by himself using the Living Language books and CDs. Once we get the interview date, we might use a private tutor to practice oral comprehension.
