Proof of Employment

Hi,

I have recently received a job offer and I am planning on returning to Canada. I am in the process of background checks right now. I was wondering what kind of Proof of Employment the border officers will be looking for when entering as a foreign worker?

Currently I have an email that contains a congratulatory message, the job title and the pay. My company told me that this is closest thing to an offer letter that they have. I will be getting a temporary contract in about a week which is more of a document and contains more information. It will also say the contract only holds if the background check passes. The official contract will be given after the checks which can take 2-3 weeks to complete.

Would I be allowed entry if I show them the email or the temporary contract? Or do I have to wait until the official contract is sent to me.

Thanks
