Hi Guys,

Just to make some conversation :)
Did you apply as common law or married?

We applied as common-law. It was pretty hard to get any evidence of my GF with our address in Buenos Aires since she was there as a tourist (for 2 years) and wasn't in the lease nor had a bank account.
We ended up using a two receipts she got from a bank.. :)

Exitos

Hi emcanada!

We did it as married! I came back from Argentina a bit more than a month ago and im already going nuts! :'( I wonder how much time it will take.. it seems to be a bit longer than the others visa offices... :( We are pretty much around the same time you and me so we'll see! But mine has to make another stop by Quebec! ...!

it takes so much PATIENCE!!! ???

Good luck! ;)

Hi dyj2010..

yeah, we all need a lot of patience..
I came here with my Israeli passport with which I don't need a tourist visa (I guess it was useful to keep it valid after all 8) ), and now I also applied for an extension of my visit. I hope I'll get it.

Are you in Quebec?, I thought it was easier to get approved if you live there, or no?

Mmm.. i have no idea.. for sure i dont have to proove anything about my job and money.. so for that i guess its easier.. But as i see on the forum people don't seem to get anything faster! It takes about 1 month to get approved by Quebec and then they need to send it to Buenos Aires..

So at least you are not separate if i understand good! Lucky at least for that ;D

Saludos,
FINALLY sent my application in today. Almost didnt get out cuz of the P.O Box and i dint have an actual address but all figured out.
I will be processing in Buenos Aires as well.
I'm so anxious I want this to be done already.
Suerte a todos. Best of Luck and keep posted.

P.S Applied as common-law, i feel like maybe i went overboard on the package sometimes, but I wanted to put any and every proof I could find, so to not have any problems later. Package weighed 5 pounds!!!!

Does anybody know if there is a spreadsheet about Buenos Aires? Ive seen many for different VO but none for us. I would like to see people from the past years how long it took.. ;)

I did my research and I was in this Forum almost 24/7 before our sponsorship was approved. There are other forums out there and I found one who had processed via BA and it took him 6 months (2009).

The thing is every case is absolutely different. Although the website says they can take up to 12 months there have been cases where they take 6 to 8 months. Desperatewaiting took a very very long time. When I went to the BA Canadian Embassy they said that they can even take up to 3 months and they also said they had cases pending since 2008.

Just hang in there guys. The first part of this (CIC approval) is absolutely nerve-wracking but once you get the sponsorship approval you relax again then 3 months go by and you get anxious and the whole process starts over again. Thats where I am at now. YOu just have to believe and be patient. ;)

Package received yesterday, Thursday ;D
Anyone know how long it takes from when they receive it to give you a client id?
