Processing in Buenos Aires?

We started processing your application on November 7, 2012.

Medical results have been received.


but we still haven't heard anything from them!

Anyone with some good news?

Thats exactly what the ecas says about my wifes application.Except ours was recieved Nov 8. I had hoped that I would have heard that they had recieved the application in Buenos Aires by now. Could be they were on summer holidays and will be back at it this monday. Also sent them an email and as expected I didn't hear anything back except for the automatic response that says they will only answer the mail if the answers can't be found on the web site. Must be nice to be in a position of power and flaunt it however you like,,,,,,grrrrrrrrrrr .....oh well,,,hurry up and wait some more.

so we emailed the embassy and they replied to pay the perminent residemce fee. and send 2 original passport photos for them to continue processing.

We only have 30 days to complete this.

does this mean its approved? and does anyone know if its better to go to the embassy or mail it? the embassy is really far away for me.

I would imagine that you are approved. They wouldn't ask for the right of residence fee if your application had a problem. Same thing goes for the Photos. You must have been short on a couple when you originally applied. Would be great if my wifes went quick as well... I don't think it would make much difference whether you mail it or go in person as long as you use the quickest means when mailing it. I know it is a pain to go to the embassy in person, especially if you drive there. Parking is a real pain. So where are you located? We are in villa maipu, san martin.

Mine said they recieved my application Nov 8th and that I recieved my sponsorship approval Jan 14th which came after recieving my file two months previous. Is Nov 7th for when Buenos Aires started working on your file? Could be I just missread things or old age setting in quicker than I anticipated,,,ha ha

We are in Mendoza region far from buenos aires!

yes nov 7 is when buenos aires started looking at my file for stage 2 approval. Stage 1 approval was on aug 29 which then they sent the file to buenos aires embassy but they did not start looking at it until Nov 7th. hope that helps

Thats a good processing time for you though......should have your stuff in buenos aires completed within a 4 month window by the sound of it,,,,,,good stuff.

Well just recieved a mail today from the VO requesting my wife's birth certificate and two fotos immigration size. Don't know how I overlooked the birth certificate but no worries. At least I know they are working on our application. Just wondering about the two fotos. How many fotos did you origianlly send in? I sent in 8 as per the instructions. Just wondering if this is a new requirement ???

My husband and I just got a letter 2, asking for medicals again (because they expired) police records from Uruguay and to pay residence fee and permission to enter Canada fee, we got this letter on February 7 2013 and we have 60 days to send everything they asked to Buenos Aires. Now since this letter came we are not able to check the status of the application on ecas it just disappeared, does anyone else is going trough this???

help we are worry ...some ppl is saying my application expired or dm ..but how can it be if they are asking us for medicals and to pay fees?

pd: they didn't ask us for photos

Hi Uruchi,
You don't need to worry. Everything must be fine with your application beause
1. They would not ask for your medicals again
2). The Uruguay police records

thank you for answering i didn't know more people had this problem too, if a have any news from Buenos Aires i will posted.

Here is my timeline if is help to anyone i would be happy.

December 20, 2011 application received.

February 9 2012 got accepted to sponsor my husband.

November 5 2012 application in process.

February 7, 2013 got a letter asking for : medicals- police records from Uruguay and pay fees so they can continue processing my husband application. we have 60 days to do this.

Police records takes 15 days to have them and the fees they are asking to pay are around 840 dollars together.

I hope this is the beginning of the end. Its been really hard, best of luck to everybody

Hi all,
First of all, the Buenos Aires VO requested my wife's passport tuesday,,,,yaaaaaaaaaa. We delivered it to the VO yesterday along with the photos and birth certificate they originally asked for. Then the nice woman who accepted the package informed us that the staff working on the PR applications were now on holiday and that they wouldn't be back until the 28th of febuary, lol,,,oh well. If anyone is waiting on a reply from them for something,,,rest easy,,,they aren't ignoring you,,,,,,

The Letter of Authentication:

•May be acquired from the Embassy, Consulate or High Commissioner’s Office representing the originating jurisdiction, OR from the jurisdiction that originally issued the licence, validating the authenticity of the licence.
•Must be on the originator’s official letterhead paper.
•Must be dated no more than 6 months prior to application date.
•Must clearly state that it is certifying the duration of the applicant’s driving experience and that the licence to which it refers is valid – the licence cannot be expired or suspended.
•If not in English or French must be translated by a Ministry recognize translator.

which is used to obtain a drivers license in Ontario.......Or at least the G1. I think you need this for what ever province you land in though........Anyone done this and know where to go to get it here in argentina......?

Well my wife recieved a mail from the VO today,

Ms. Sawchuk,

This e-mail is in follow up to our correspondence of February 12 and your husband's e-mail below. Yes we are almost at the completion of the application process. Please submit your valid passport at the same time you drop off the birth certificate and photographs.

So I guess i was right in assuming the process was almost complete, though they are a bit behind in answering mails as we hand delivered this stuff last wed, Feb 13th. Could be the right hand doesn't know what the left hand is doing ha ha.......Really nice of them though to answer that application process was almost complete . They didn't have to. Certianly was nice news to recieve........

I guess no one here is bothering with the driving license when they arrive in canada...specifically Ontario,,,,

We recieved our visa Feb 28th. Went into the VO and picked it up.they had sent us a mail on the 25th stating that it was ready for pick up,,,Had to also send in a couple more PR photos as the two previous ones had the wrong color for the back ground,,,,,,. when was the last time you heard from them,,,,,,,when they want the PR fee?
