can you pls let me know what is aor and ar
Okay. So
AR is the date when your PR Application package is received by IRCC. Usually the same date when your courier/mail company gives you a confirmation of delivery.

AOR is when you receive a mail from IRCC once they open your package & has completed the document verification & confirms all the required documents are received. Then they issue you a mail with application number which you can link to your CIC account.

While temp AOR is when you call to IRCC customer service representative and they will give you a temp file/application number if IRCC has opened your application package but not verified it.

Hope this explains.

Yes highly suggest to do that.
Also a bonus tip when you call them ask what's the current status of your application?
And tell him/her to send a mail to concerned officer who is working on your file to wake up and send you the AOR soon. As the agents have all these visibility & have been empowered to do that.

Also from your side you can send them a webform request with your temp AOR number.
Asking for updates. If you have your UCI number handy.

Thanks

Thank you.

How do you get the temp file number please? Call them? What info I should have ready before calling them? I unfortunately forget my tracking number. Silly me :(
They will obviously ask you some security questions, like your UCI number, full name, email address, phone number. Its a very quick call, once you get an agent on the line. The agent will let you know that they have received your application, in which you can now ask for a Temp file number and it will be read out to you over the phone. However, a member from this forum said he received his temporary file number via email.

Sorry to say but that is not entirely true. Being humble and speaking gently is the way to go. Webforms can take about 2 to 3 weeks for a response from my personal experience. Its alot faster to call them. I highly doubt they will give you a "status on your application". Once you receive an AOR, they will start sending you periodical updates on your application. Before you receive an AOR, IRCC are under no obligation to give you any status or updates
