Differs from one case to another ...some people get stuck in one status for one month ,some change status in couple of days ...

Do you know exactly when it changed from submitted to assessment ? did they send you mail for additional documents ?

Actually I dont know when it changed, since I have been on vacations for 2 weeks I hadn't checked it until today. No they haven't send mail for anything.

But I haven't ordered a duplicate copy of WES, because I have been told that I dont have to.. and now that Im reading some comments about it, Im getting worried.. should I do it now? :/

You need to order a duplicate report to OINP.

1) Login to your WES account
2) On your Initial Application Order, click Order Duplicate IRCC
3) Select Immigration on the Purpose > Click Next
4) Recipient 1: NO
Recipient 2: Delete IRCC
Click 'Add Recipient'
5) Search 'Ontario' > Select Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, MIIT
6) On the 'Attention To', enter your OINP File Number, e.g. XSHW-12345 > Click Add this Recipient > Next
7) Review your order. You'll see this:

Recipient Information
Recipient 1: Ontario Immigrant Nominee Program, MCIIT Edit
Division: Opportunities Ontario, Provincial Nominee Program
Department: Ministry of Citizenship, Immigration, & Intl Trade
Number of reports: 1 ($30.00)
Delivery Method: Standard Mail via Canada Post - $7.00
Harmonized Sales Tax (HST): $4.81

Total Price: $41.81 (All fees are in Canadian dollars.)

8) Click Submit and make Payment

Guys Im confused, I already have a reference number of my converted diplomas and one copy has been sent to IRCC. Should I still order a duplicate to Ontario? If yes, should I change something in my application to let them know? like attach the receipt or something?

Most important is PCC. It may take some time. All other things you can do once you get ITA. You should start the process of PCC, I have already started keeping in mind i am still in assessment! :)
Hmmm now you got me thinking if I should get PCC too! Actually, out of the 2 PCCs, one I have to either get from the consulate/I go back and get it and the other one, I can upload a file that says "I am applying from a country that requires an official request letter from IRCC to get a police certificate."

Please correct me if I am wrong, you CAN go back to your home country to get PCC right? As long as you submit within 6 months of getting it?

Yes, you need to give authorization to OINP to your WES report, that is sending a duplicate report. IRCC and OINP (MIIT) are two different entities. To do that, follow my post that you quoted.

If you are taking PCC from your current country of residence, it is valid for 6 months. But for those countries, where you have lived for more then 6 month cumulative, you have to take PCC after the last date you visited that country. I am afraid you can not go back and take PCC, you have to apply through consulate or may be you can authorize some one in that country to take PCC on your behalf.

Thanks, I guess I do have to process it now since our govt takes their time. I heard it takes about 3 weeks to get it processed from the time I provide fingerprints in the consulate and I have to mail it to relatives back home.

Good luck to us! Hopefully we see some DIPs in our submissions!

Could not get you on this bro...PCC needs finger prints ...I must go physically to the associated country to get it...correct ?

A draw is imminent on Wednesday and OINP usually updates DIP on Monday then nomination the following day or few hours before the draw.

Who needs a police certificate?
In general, you and all the people in your family who are 18 or older need to get a police certificate.

You may need a police certificate from any country or territory that you have spent six months or more since the age of 18.

For example: if you visited, worked or lived in a country for two months, left for a few years, then returned for four months, that counts as spending six months there. In this case, you would need a certificate.

If you need a police certificate from a country or territory and:

  • are currently living there, or received the police certificate before leaving, the police certificate must be issued within six months before you apply.
  • have lived there in the past, the police certificate must be issued after you last lived in that country or territory.
Above paragraph is taken from CIC website. You can check your country specific PCC requirements from following portal.

Not really. Here in Hong Kong, I can go to the consulate and they will assist me in getting my fingerprints but I have to send it to my relatives myself and they will go to the police dept to process it on my behalf. They will claim it on my behalf as indicated, and they will send it back to me. 3 weeks via express fedex/dhl! So it's quite good to get it started earlier.

For July applicants, some of them have 1 week difference between DIP & Nomination.
