Hi

As far as I know, none of my employers have been contacted by the Canadian High Commission as yet. I attached my offer of employment, up to date references and a few salary invoices.

To mohanrkkdi:

Thanks a lot. I am kind of excited, and perhaps little anxious.

Yes, I worked a few years as a teacher of English as a Second/Foreign Language. And no, English is not my mother tongue. In fact, I am a Bangladeshi.

I really don't know much about TEFL jobs in Canada, but I hope that there will be some, perhaps with language schools for immigrants. If not, I'll probably try to find a new career. I know there is a professional body for the TEFL/TESOL teachers in Canada: http://www.tesl.ca/ .

Have you ever tried looking for work using http://www.tefl.com/ or http://www.eslcafe.com/

Will continue this discussion in the future, right?

it might be a case of pre or post jun 2010 applications. I heard (i could be wrong) that post june 2010 applicants should do general.

Hey Guys,

4131 here.

Application received at NS 10/02/2010
AOR: 18/05/2010
Submitted docs: 18/08/2010
2 AOR: 18/08/2010 (I submitted in person, got the 2nd AOR in person)

Visa Office: Caracas

Hopefully it'll be fast, supposedly Caracas Visa Office is the fastest in the world, I also join in mequiero.com forums (spanish) and we have a record of several people with fast times, the average between 10 people is 280/290 days from start to finish

Yap, it's also interesting to me! I read the guide (before the change on 26 june 2010), they mentioned there clearly General Training for Reading & Writing !!!!

Hi sonkordeep,

Its not written officially anywhere but we have seen one case where the applicant applied under 4131 and his IELTS score was just moderate and visa office made an objection that in this proffession you need good english proficiency and he/she dont think that with this proficiency you will be able to get settle in Canada in this proffession. So from that we all came to know that they can make objection on this.

Cheers
Saki

I think before Jun 26, the guide said GT but OP6 said both would be accepted
I think after Jun 26, the guide said GT but OP6 said both would be accepted (this modification came on 1 of April, you can see it on OP6)
A new OP6 came out on the 4th of August and it says "IELTS offers ‘General Training' and ‘Academic' options. Only the ‘General Training' tests are accepted for CIC purposes." (This modification came on 26th of JULY (not June), you can see that on OP6).

you can join this list if you are after 1st April 2010 applicant to CHC London.
