Hmm sorry I made a post asking for information on this thread but either it got deleted or I am just going mad and did not hit the "send" key :)

Just to ask, has anyone tried to apply as a restaurant owner?

Someone on my blog has asked me about this. Her husband owns a restaurant and he has no boss. As a self-employed restaurant owner, how does he provide work references and list of duties? They have his restaurant registration certificate, trade licence, food licence etc.

She wonders the best person to give the references. Ordinarily with self-employed applicants they provide contracts and references from customers, but this isn't really possible since his customers tend to be walk-in/walk-out!

She is considering asking any of the following for references:
a) His tax consultant who has been helping him with filing his taxes for the business since day one
b) His landlord on whose premises his restaurant is located
c) His creative agency who does the branding and designs the menu etc

All of the above people are also his regular customers.

I also suggested to her maybe getting a reference from an employee who can testify to her husband's duties.

Can anyone who has applied as a self-employed restaurant manager or owner make any suggestions?

Thanks,
Wayne.

hi everyone

I am on 0631 and nice to see everyone here.

Hi there Wayne,

That's a very interesting post but I have never thought about it but it's a very interesting situation. Let me do some research and get back to you

Cheers
Charlie

All your suggestions sound very very good Wayne.
Problem with self-employment is that's there is no specific list of requered documents. The more you can submit, the more solid case you have. Invoices of providers and annual tax statements are a must for sure.
We've seen in this forum quite a few self-employed applicants getting rejected cause they didn't satisfy the CIO that they actually performed noc duties.
However, if a member can gather some good info about this category of applicants, should make a thread. I bet it will help lots of people.

OK thanks for the replies :) If you find any further information then please let me know.

Cheers,
Wayne.

Our timelines are similar Infiant. I keep visiting this thread but 0631 applicants seem to have gone into hibernation...lol....kidding.....

Your appl was rcvd on 21st Sep? Mine was 14th Sep. Do you think we will make it onto CAP, considering they are still working on end July applications?

In my calculation all of August and September applicant will get there cc/bd/dd incashed with in one month only. Because as per spreadshit 162 no applicant got his dd charged. If we deduct 1122 applicant from the rest applicant only 40 people left in the list. Primary rush finished. Happy days for August and Sept. Applicant.

Congrats Infiant a second time for your successful file submission.....

Not sure about making to cap your highness. It seems all calculations are vague. In my last application attempt, I couldn't make it to the cap. I was a borderline case. Anyways let us be positive and hope for the best.
