Background: I came to Canada on closed work permit in mid 2024 with NOC 20012 (IT Manager), however all my life prior to that I have been working in Cybersecurity (IT GRC) prior to that.
Question:
1- Can I choose NOC 21220 (Cybersecurity specialist) as primary NOC code instead of last 2-year NOC code on work permit (20012)? This might give me edge in STEM, however, don't want to contradict my work permit.
2- Which NOC code should I specify on employer reference letter which IRCC is expected to evaluate case on? Should I mention both codes with associated roles, timeframe and duties? Usually, I have seen people suggesting keeping single NOC code on reference letters.
3. What is technical definition of primary NOC code, does it need to be recent or minimum 6 month in last 3 years?
