Dear All,

I applied in canada & got my AOR but I moved outside canada now.
I need to change my address online now but do you think it will affect my process time or what is the time limit to change the address on PR application if you move outside canada during progress.
Can any one please advice me.

Thanks...

I think nothing will change, but the place where you take the MR's is gonna be in your new country still you will need to inform.
Although if you don't get more information, i would recommend you to consult with a lawyer.

Dear All:

I have a question regarding to CEC application.

I just finished my PhD from a University in Canada 10 months ago and doing postdoc now. I wonder if I can apply for Canada Permanent Residence under CEC class or not since I have not been working in company. I just have research assistant and postdoc working experience. My major is Electrical and Computer Engineering.

Many thanks,

Lopaka

Research Assistant is enough and NOC is 4012. If you have atleast one year experience as Research Assistant and filled your tax returns, you may apply in CEC.

Thank you so much Andy for the prompt response.

Sorry to bother about this since I have checked that link and also the NOC, but I don't see the Post-doctoral title in these classifications. Are there any people who has applied or got the PR under CEC with a postdoc job and research assistant experience?

I applied for Canada permanent residence last year under Federal skilled worked. However, I got rejected just this January. I am now preparing my document to apply again. I wonder if which one I should choose between FSW and CEC?

Appreciate any suggestion and comment.

Best

Thanks Saruyashi and Andy for the info. I am quite clear now. My case may fall in code 4011 for a postdoc which I did not see it when I checked before.

Best,

Hi Lopaka,
I have applied under postdoc category. However, since my work permit mentioned my job profile under "biologists and related scientists" I applied under NOC 2121. The reference letter states jobs and responsibilities accordingly.

Congrats to those who got AOR this weekend. It is a bit surprising that we get AOR in the weekends though. So any news today about AOR ?

thanks everyone, hope all us get the PR at end of this year. I'll keep you updated in case the things move any faster (or slower) 'cus I'm not in Canada, just for the record.

btw, I have an important question. With the AOR can I apply for the bridging open work permit? I'm currently unemployed and living outside of Canada, but I could return if it's needed in order to get it (I still have 6 months of valid WP). So what you guys think? should I try?

cheers.

Hi shad86,

you can apply with the AOR for the BOWP.
But your current WP has to be expiring within 4 months and you must be residing in Canada.
So after 2 months you can apply for it with a condition of living in Canada.
But Please double check the eligibility listed on

http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob485.asp

I am planing to apply for the BOWP as soon as i get my AOR:)

Anyone who applied last week of Jan got AOR yet?

soccer_boy... refer to the tracker. the turn has not reached Jan last week yet.
