Hello, I just want to ask something regarding my online application if you know something about my case. I submitted my online application with complete documents last apr.14,2014 and I received file number from MPNP, Apr.19,2014..This Aug. 23,2014, the office advised me to submit updated cert.of employment, letter from financial institution and documents from notary public with signed of myself and my common law partner. I completed the said documents Aug.28,2014 and I recieved this

My concern was my Manitoba supporter said that the MPNP called at her, Oct.17,2014 because she cannot support me with other applicant she applied. How long do I need to wait wih my case. Is it true because once for all why did the MPNP permitted me to submit and complete my documents if my supporter is currently supporting other application. Also, Will I receive a decision via mail from MPNP?until now Im still waiting if the decision are final,only my Manitoba supporter informed me..Im still hoping for my application..Thanks and God bless

I honestly cannot say regarding the decision making process of Manitoba. The new point system didn't state if they prefer jobs that are under the NOC, demand occupation list. Bear in mind, you are applying under PNP and not Federal application. So, the 24 in demand occupations in the list might not be an issue.

I have a degree in International Relations and a Masters in Public Administration. The occupation I provided Manitoba is Human Resources/ Administrative Management. I am an HR Manager at the moment. My dream job is to work in local government but that will take time for me to obtain in Manitoba. I am not even sure if I will be successful, but hey, dreaming is free.

I suggest you check the labour market in Manitoba and see if Veterinarian is an in demand occupation. Additionally, I think this is a regulated occupation . You might have to study in order to obtain a licence to practice as a vet in Manitoba.

I hope other fellow posters here will share their opinions regarding your query. As far as I know, you can apply for MPNP with your current occupation. But you would need to have a very good Settlement Plan, where you can demonstrate, how you will be able to successfully obtain a job position as a vet. You should look into the Settlement Plan, start researching on it so that you can create an impressive SP.

SP works well and license exams cleared will be an asset plus point. im working hard to pass clear atlest 1 license exam out of total 3 exams.. this link says veterinarian noc 3114 job prospects VERY GOOD here in Manitoba govt. 2013 link..http://www.gov.mb.ca/tce/lmi/pdf/career2013.pdf ... on page no. 7 noc 3114 veterinarian. anyway i will apply in jan or feb general stream under veterinarian noc 3114, meanwhile working hard for preparing documents, ielts exams n SP plans. Good luck for all future coming general stream applicants. Keep n touch n share ur views on this general stream forum.

That's good to know that vet prospects are quite good. Good luck in your application and make sure your SP is really good. You can also check the SP2 of your sponsor before they submit it. That is if they don't mind.

Thanks cebugirl. I only have 2 years of experience in actual HR department. But I have 4.5 years of experience in supervision of a team, interviewing and hiring (every year), training etc. So, my previous skills were very much transferable to HR.

I definitely agree with the importance of an impressive SP. In my case, I did a lot of research on it before filling it myself. Additionally, I also checked my uncle's (my sponsor's) SP2. He is of another generation and feels threatened by computers LoL, he doesn't know the benefits of the Internet. It was not bad though, he did his own research the old school way. When we were younger he has always been our most knowledgeable uncle, so I really shouldn't have doubted him. I was crazily paranoid. ;D ;D ;D

ah okay, great though that you have tried many fields. I want to try teaching and finished my MA in education just this month. hopefully, I will get to have, even just 1 sem, of experience in this area. 6 months is the requirement for MPNP, right?

Yes, the new self assessment still accepts a minimum of six months full time work. I thought you already passed your application?

That's true about the experience though.
But most companies in Canada will require the 'Canadian Experience'. (So, I am dreading the fact that, maybe all my work experience will be useless. Ah well, I am prepared to work from entry level or even less.)

This website states very good prospect for veterinarians, but I am not sure weather veterinarians are realy in demand in Manitoba, that's only Manitoba immigration officer know about Manitoba labor market about veterinarians.

In my opinion, Manitoba is open to immigrants with any kind of job. But they will base their approval on how the immigrants prepare their documents, answer the SP1 and how strong their ties are in Manitoba.

MPNP has been accepting immigrants with regulated jobs, that means they cannot immediately work in their field of job experience, but they are willing to do any kind of jobs to contribute to the economy. They also contribute by paying tuition fees as they have to study in order to have the licence.

As long as you can support yourself while preparing for being a licensed vet in Manitoba, I don't see any reason why you shouldn't try. End of the day, you will never know if you are eligible until you apply.
