Thank You. Well i filed my application March 23 2015. Recieved the sponsor approval May 28 2015. My file was transferd over to VO in Mexico City. We recieved what they call the AOR Sep 18 2015. Now i see people have 2 AOR and alot of people are getting fast processing times does the approval letter of Sponser count as the 1st AOR ?? And also my medicals were sent off with the application. Now my lawyer says i might not need interview. My concern is will this be over soon or does it still have a while??
Hola Herrera09! Normally you will get 2 AORs. One for during the spousal approval stage and one during the principle applicant approval stage. The first comes from CIC Mississauga and the 2nd comes from the Mexico City Visa Office. If you've already received sponsor approval and the file was transferred to Mexico City you are in the 2nd stage of approval. Yes, you could consider the Spousal Approval letter as AOR1 though is actually a different letter. The September 18th AOR is theoretically your 2nd AOR or AOR2. You may never have received an AOR1. Sometimes that happens. Sometimes you don't even get an AOR2 and then just start receiving communications from the MCVO.

Clear as mud?? ;)

Based on my own personal experience you appear to be getting fast processing times. ;D As far as how much more time do you have, that is the million dollar question. It could be as little as 2 or 3 months if your application is solid, uncomplicated and you don't need an interview, it could take up until the one year anniversary of your medicals, or if your application is problematic for some reason it could take even longer up to and including denial, appeal, etc....another 2 years or more.

I would direct you to our spreadsheet as that will give you an indication of the experience of those who have gone before us and those who are currently in process now. That is the best information you will find.

I also invite you to include you information in our spreadsheet. you can add it following the instructions in the spreadsheet (see my sig line) or I can fill in the information for you. Please fill in the following thoroughly and I will input your data.

Hey,

I live in Costa Rica and Canada has requested my passport. They say I have to send it (as well as other documents like photos and whatnot) to Mexico via courier. However they are not explicit with the address so I am a bit lost.

At the footer of the email, I see written

"Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 193, Colonia Granada, Del. Miguel Hidalgo, 11520, Mexico D.F. Mexico"

Which gives me the impression that this is the address I should be using for my courier. But since this is just a footer and the email doesn't specify, I'm not sure.

Since you guys have done this before, do you know if this is the correct address to send my passport to? The reason I am concerned is because their website (http://www.canadainternational.gc.ca/mexico-mexique/contact-contactez.aspx?lang=eng) has a different address:

Embassy of Canada
Schiller 529, Col. Bosque de Chapultepec (Polanco)
Del. Miguel Hidalgo
11580 Mexico City, D.F.
Mexico

My email also says "JUL2014 VERSION" if that's of any relevance.

Hello junketsu!

I just finished sending in an additional document package (no passport) and my letter expressly stated to send the documents to:

Embassy of Canada
Immigration Section
Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra 193, Colonia Granada, Delegacion Miguel Hidalgo, 11520, Mexico D.F. Mexico

I can't say with certainty that that is where your passport should get sent, but likely it is.

I'm sure there are others here who can comment on where they were directed to send there passport.

Speedy Processing!

Take lots of pictures together and keep boarding passes and anything else that could serve as additional evidence in the event that the VO asks for more...

So, as I posted previously, when we received AOR2 on Sept 14th we were asked for additional documentation, including the PGR police report, updated Schedule A, additional evidence from the Sponsor of intent to re-establish in Canada, and a letter from PA re plan to live in Canada.

With respect to "additional evidence from the Sponsor of intent to re-establish in Canada", with the help of various kind individuals here I was able to come up with 14 different evidences to prove my intent to re-establish in Canada. In order to aid others in providing this evidence with their applications I am posting a list of the types of evidences I provided. In hindsight I should have provided these or other evidences up front to avoid potential delays in processing. Anyway here is the list I provided. Obviously it will be different for different people;

Addendum A: Copies of corporate documents and some photos to prove ownership and directorship of my active business in Calgary.

Addendum B: Copies of emails dated from June 29, 2015 and July 7, 29015, between myself and contact from Royal Bank of Canada requesting mortgage pre-approval and receiving mortgage pre-approval for the purpose of a future home purchase.

Addendum C: Copies of emails and a screen shot of the Real estate listings portal on the internet between myself and my realtor in Calgary.

Addendum D: Copies of documents related to the recent (week of Sept 14, 2015) acquisition of a new (to me) vehicle (leased), for our future use upon arrival in Canada.

Addendum E: Copies of personal bank statements to demonstrate that I have bank accounts in Canada.

Addendum F: Copies of invoices from Rogers for cell phone and Storage Mart where I am currently storing personal items.

Addendum G: Copy of purchase invoice to confirm ownership by myself of a motorcycle pictured in attached photo, along with the newly leased vehicle in front of my automotive service shop in Calgary.

Addendum H: Copy of relevant correspondence between myself and personnel from a travel agency, on behalf of Napa Auto Parts with whom my business is affiliated through their Napa Autopro brand, who are coordinating a business/vacation trip to Portugal in March 2016.

Addendum I: Copy of email between myself and my business’ Napa Autopro representative, dated July 9, 2015, inquiring about the possibility of business opportunity upon return to Canada.

Addendum J: Copy of a text message conversation, dated, August 29, 2015, between myself and a friend wherein the conversation is sprinkled with references of our intent to re-establish in Canada.

Addendum K: Copy of a text message conversation with a friend/work colleague, dated between February 2nd and September 4, 2015, which includes references to awaiting my wife's PR Visa approval and move back to Canada.

Addendum L: Copy of a Facebook Messenger text message conversation with XXXXXXXXX regarding scheduling a meeting with him to check out his property in consideration of renting it.

Addendum M: Copy of notarized letter from my brother, XXXXXXXXXX, confirming that he is aware of our plans to move to Canada and, upon arrival in Canada, we will be living with his family while we look for a permanent residence.

Addendum N: Copies of a conversation on canadavisa.com of questions I had about landing at a land border and whether I had to make an appointment to land and what the procedure is to re-introduce a Canadian car into Canada that I had legalized (permanently imported) into Mexico.
-----------------------------------------

For each item I provided explanations and on the actual documents I highlighted the important information as necessary.

I wrote a 7 page letter explaining why I couldn't provide certain evidences and explained the addendums as well as other plans we have, for example, what we plan to do with our property in Mexico.

As for updated Schedule A, we provided a separate spreadsheet with detailed information as to my wife's activities (Question 8) including detailed dates of entry and exit through the countries we travelled through during our motorcycle trip which corresponded with stamps in her passport. As for Question 12, we ended up providing only the 3 residential addresses my wife has (ever) had (nothing to do with addresses while we were on our trip). We added a letter to explain our rationale for answering those 2 questions as we did in light of their request for more detailed information about her travels through Latin America, South America and USA.

Once again I want to thank everyone who suggested ideas for evidence to re-establish in Canada. It was invaluable as it stimulated idea generation and was truly appreciated due to my circumstances at that moment.

Now we hope for a quick review, approval and PPR so that we can travel to Canada before my wife's medicals expire on Dec 16th.

Happy Thanksgiving and Speedy Processing!
