I called the CIC again just now to check what happened with my application and why is it taking so long compared to some of the applicants on this forum. Here is what I got:

- They just finalized my background checks not too long time ago. and my file is IN TRANSIT (BTW I was told multiple times that it was in Montreal office) as of Jan 09-2014!

I told the lady that I was told that my file was already there and that I will be scheduled soon for the test as per what the agent informed me last week. I also mentioned that some applicants already did the test. She had no answer of course.

why would my application take longer? Same office like the other applicants and I applied around the same date. I have no criminal record and I lived in Canada more than I lived anywhere else.

Stay Positive. Stay Positive 8)

Hi Farrous, as someone who applied in July 2011, I know it can feel frustrating to see people who applied after you (or in my case, long, long, after you) be processed before your application is processed, but there are so many unknowns and so many variables in CIC processing that it's impossible to really know why or how or when. This game is about patience.

Personally, I try to keep in mind that other people's good treatment isn't to blame for my less-good treatment.

Stay positive and please, I hope the new citizens among us will stick up for those of us still waiting when it comes time to speak up, vote, etc.

That's why I ask for exact date of event and its description in system when call CIC, to better confirm that something actually happened, and exactly what.

Better question would be why some applicants are scheduled for test in just 5-6 months now, but those who applied earlier in 2012 and 2013 have to wait for 1-2 years for their tests?

Because though there are more ceremonies happening now than the last year, there's no way there's room for everybody to be finalized in less than a year in Montreal.

I didn't ask for the date of the transfer last week. I should've. It's hard to take the dates seriously when the agents are all over the place. With this call, I wasn't mean but showed the agent that I wasn't really satisfied with what I have been told. She apologized. Can't blame her honestly. I blame the CIC. They really need to train their employees and hire the ones with the right competencies.

I called CIC yesterday and the agent told me without asking my client ID, it ll take 2 years (it is early to inquire about). Then, i asked whether my file is transferred to the local office (which i already know, it is), he gave me the exact date of transfer (which is true since i asked the same question during last two calls) and also added it ll take 8 months from now for test invite.
So i guess i have start reading discover Canada booklet or may be not....

Just like that?... Meaning that you didn't receive a Residence Questionnaire request?.
Did you land inland/outland when you got your PR?. Were you on spousal sponsorship?
Sorry for all my questions, just trying to understand how this works...

Hi Guys, sorry I have been busy with family but I got this on Jan 3rd. The letter came from the St. Clair Office, which is a little strange since my RQ docs got sent to Scarborough...
