Hi guys,

Yesterday(Oct 17) I got a letter in the post from CIC. I opened it up only to get the dreaded RQ!!!!!! I was kind of anticipating this since I send my application in as soon as I hit 1095 days, and I have been travelling pretty frequently. The letter was dated 9th Oct and the response was to be sent to the office in Scarborough Civic Centre. Uggghhhh ??? ??? ???

In one sense it is good that you received and will be done with the RQ very early. Wish you good luck for rest of the processing. Please keep us updated.

oh man! kenyadian hope your application moves fast regardless of the RQ.

I am a bit worried. Can't hide it. I travelled for work a lot. But I also got married in my wife's country. We planned our wedding from Montreal and then we went to my wife's country for 1 month. That's the most I have been outside the country. I am not sure if being married to someone from a totally different culture could spare me the RQ.
kenyadian. do you check your online application status frequently? does it show that an RQ was issued.

Sorry, kenyadian. I sent my application the day I clocked 1095. I am hoping RQ won't be issue since I did 3 years full-time study here in Canada and only travelled twice for vacation during break.

No updates from my side, still anticipating :-\
One of my friends who applied late March got an RQ early October, although he only traveled for short trips to the US and also had his first child born here in Canada!

On the plus side, he argued that an RQ before the test is much better than after the test. He thinks that an RQ before the test is routine while one after signals real suspicion from CIC.
Any input on that? Did CIC change their RQ policies to before-testing or there exist two types of RQ?

Guys thanks for the support. I'm so overwhelmed with what to send. Luckily I have saved most of my bank statements, most of my credit card statements, leases and mortgage including letters from my previous landlords. I am also sending in t4 forms along with notice of assessments. I have my phone bills upto mid last year but am missing phone records before that. I'll check on my online status and update this thread. In a way I am happy that this happened now rather than after the test. I just want this thing to be over.

Ps: I am very healthy and have never had to go to the doctor more than once or twice in the last 3 years. My medical records probably won't show much. Wondering how this will affect my application. Anyone with insight?

1. No. I was employed, quit and then moved to a job with a reputed consulting firm and then moved to another very reputed consulting firm. On the past three years I have continuously been employed for 3.75 years but with different employers.

2. Married with kids. Wife is PR. Two kids both Canadian.

3. Mostly for vacation to the US, Africa and China. Vacation back home was only once.

4. For my application, I only sent back what was requested. Nothing more, nothing less.

Kenyadian, u never saw the update of the rq online?

I don't think the rq is related to the job u have or how well someone is established in Canada. It's totally random
