I still think it is good to add one more administrator who can update the spreadsheet because you will be a busy new mommy and my career gets insanely busy sometimes.

It depends on your Visa Office. Ex: The Manila office does not send out AOR's, and so for them yes they have to wait to see that or other communications to know their file is being worked on. The Mexico office does send out AOR's so I should get an e-mail for them before I see any activity on ECAS. I'm not familiar with the Amman office, you might have to see if there is a thread for any Amman applicants and either check out their spreadsheet if they have one, or post your question on there.

I have seen others say this, and I have no doubt it is true, but it confuses me. Why would different visa processing offices have such different procedures? Shouldn't they all be singing from the same hymn book?

I thought about this and I think the reason is that there are cutbacks to the number of visa officers at the visa offices. At the same time, some visa offices get many applications such as the visa office in Manila whereas other visa offices don't get as many applications. I think this is why some visa offices have time to send AOR whereas others are simply too busy to process sponsorship applications as well as visitor visa applications.

Fingers crossed for waves of good news this week! Hope everyone here who celebrates it had a happy Easter. I assume all government offices will be closed Monday but will be back to regular business by Tuesday. Lets all hope they had a good relaxing long weekend too and are in good spirits to start speeding through all our AOR's and SA's ;D
