I know it's still early for all of us, but just out of curiosity..

How will we know when we're getting "close" to PR being issued? What will it say in ECAS?

We're planning to leave the minute we get my hubby's PR, and I would like to quit my crappy job a month or two prior!

Probably hard to tell. If you have to have an interview that's usually the very last thing before ppr (I think). But if they waive the interview I don't see how you'd know unless, like the other person said, they request remeds. Or if you happen to order your gcms notes and they happen to say DM , then you know you're just waiting for a letter.

Hey guys, do we have to wait for it to say 'in progress' on ECAS to know that the VO has rec'd and opened the file?

It depends on your Visa Office. Ex: The Manila office does not send out AOR's, and so for them yes they have to wait to see that or other communications to know their file is being worked on. The Mexico office does send out AOR's so I should get an e-mail for them before I see any activity on ECAS. I'm not familiar with the Amman office, you might have to see if there is a thread for any Amman applicants and either check out their spreadsheet if they have one, or post your question on there.

Since you will be giving birth in 2 weeks and I'm going away for work related reason in couple of weeks, I think we should give one other person the rights to edit the spreadsheet.

I can offer to help out. Have been following closely on a regular basis and appreciate all the work you both have contributed. Also, there is a chance our application (Singapore visa office) is a much longer process...and hate to admit it, but we could one of the last to recieve PR. Let me know if this works for both of you.
