Hey guys, I'm starting a new thread about LMO processing times. If anyone has received an LMO (or had one rejected) since the beginning of 2014, please post your result in the following format:

NOC:
Province:
Start date:
Follow up date(s):
End date:
Result:

Please be sure to put as much info as possible about follow up dates such as when your employer received a file number, confirmation number, or a request for extra documents.

Right now, I'm hoping to get an LMO before the end of April. It was submitted in early January.

NOC: 2173
Province: Alberta
Start date: around 10-Dec-2013
Follow up date(s): NA
End date: 28-Feb-2014
Result: +ve

I've seen your posts on other threads. I would have never guessed that your job was in IT. Jobs in that field seem to be taking forever to get LMOs.

Also, to everyone else, please feel free to post information regarding your LMO, even if it's still pending, or turned out to be negative. I guess that I'll post two of mine.

LMO #1

NOC: 6711
Province: BC
Start date: between November 7 and 21, 2013
Follow up date(s): N/A
End date: Between February 10 and 14, 2014
Result: Negative

LMO #2

NOC: 6711
Province: Saskatchewan
Start date: between January 9 and 17
Follow up date(s): N/A
End date: Still waiting
Result: Pending

Hey everyone, I found some up-to-date news on LMO processing times but I'm not sure of its reliability. Here's the link:

http://www.ackahlaw.com/what-s-new/newsletter-february-2014/

According to this newsletter, it seems like LMOs take between 6 to 10 weeks in really good provinces while taking 13 - 16 weeks in really slow provinces. I'm now inclined to believe that they're taking up to 28 weeks now. Whatever happened to the days when there was a cap at 20 weeks? Don't answer that past RHETORICAL question please. We all know the answer.

Any news??

No news. So far, I have nothing. I'm into my 10th week right now for Saskatchewan and I really hope that there isn't a backlog of LMO applications for this province.

week 29 BC NOC 2173.. I'm winning...not

Guys,
I have been watching this forum for about 4 months. My conclusion is that if the LMO processing exceeds 20 weeks then there's a problem,it's either your employer is lying or Service Canada are investigating his status

If you don't mind me asking.. Why were you refused in BC?

I wasn't refused, my employer was. He applied for an unnamed LMO and my name was supposed to go on it after it was approved. It was refused for some reason having to do with the business itself (he couldn't exactly tell me) rather than having anything to do with advertising or the current state of the Canadian economy. They're re-applying but that's going to take months and if my Saskatchewan job comes through before then, then I'm taking that one. The first person who puts my name on an LMO is the one I'm going with.

LMO application come out negative after waiting for about 8 weeks. The employer told me that Service Canada wasn't satisfied with advertising and recruitment efforts. Everything else was ok. They will reapply after 4 weeks additional advertising.

Hi, After 214 days, 30 weeks or 7 months, my LMO was approved yesterday! :o 8) :P

It's probably the longest time someone has waited for a LMO (in this forum at least).

From recent conversations with my employer, I've learned that the main cause of delay was that there were several LMOs for the same job, same employer and same location. So every time another LMO for the same position was submitted, it joined the main application and it delayed it even more. Since my employer had about 30 LMOs submmited, you can imagine the pain.

That considered, here are the details:

LMO submission date: Aug 26th, 2013
LMO result date: Mar 27, 2014
LMO result: Positive.
NOC code: 2173
Location: Vancouver, BC

Cheers!

Congratulations tiagodj, you've been waiting really long. I wish you all the best with your visa application from CIC. Hopefully, it won't take another full 6 months like the CIC website says. They ought to fast track your application after seeing how long you waited for an LMO.
