As far as I know, the average time to obtain a LMO is 3-4 months, I spent much time on the study of the process.
But 7 months is pointless. There must be the order of acquisition of the item, because in the latter case it would be unprofessional and unfair to the applicants. Employers often make a mistake in the application, and must re-apply but it's hard to admit it, but there are major flaws with the case officers also. I specifically wait 6 months, guess where the error occurred, but can not do anything. Just wait, be correct, be fair to fulfill mine part of the deal with future employers, but in the meantime I got some good offers that I turned down because I have a deal. Only relocation is a stressful process, and the preparation and when the error occurs for an administrator who is not able to further study the process becomes stressful.

Can I ask a question here?

Now I am already working in a company and holding a closing work permit only allow me to work for this company. Do I still need to apply a LMO to extend my work permit? If yes, does my company need to advertise the position again???

Please help! Thanks!

Shirley

Unfortunately yes! You need a new LMO (but this time apply Accelerated-LMO which will give you results in 25-30days) and ofcourse as you are not on Post graduate work permit your employer need to show recruitment efforts again by way of advertisement.

Thanks Jitu!!!

But I still will work for the same company. For recruitment effort, you mean my company has to advertise my position to the public again? can i use the recruitment record they used two years ago when they hired me??

Thanks,
Shirley

No it doesnt work like this, as you have issued a work permit it is treated as contract of employment, so when it expires means employment contract matured (Doesnt matter whether it is permanent position).

The simplest way is to post that job on jobs.gc.ca website and that will be fine.

so saddddddddddddd...just received my mail from the canadian embassy here in thailand....My work permit is refused...I have evrything contract, lmo, and other supporting documents with regards for my education....

They refused it for I dont have a complete training as a caregiver and in my continous employment hence, I am working as a grade one teacher here for almost four years in one school and a subject teacher in the kindergarten department. In fact, I have been teaching for almost 9 years continously in three different schools...My first four years in teaching was in one school, 6 months in the International School as a Teaching Assistant in the kindergarten department and now I am a teacher and an adviser of grade one pupils for almost 4 years already.

My prospective work in Canada is only nannying for 3 kids aged 2, 8 and 9. and has nothing to do with medical attention. soooo sad... :(

It would be alright for me re apply next week..? Thanks..
