I would suggest to create a cover letter and get all documents scanned in one file, i.e LMO application first page, passport and work permit copy and Cover letter explaining your situation and LMO file #.

Make sure that your employment offer should mention "Term of employment as Indeterminate" and Job type as Permanent full time.

Good Luck
Why should term of employment be indeterminate aka permanent, if we are applying for TEMPORARY Work Permit?
Shouldn't it be permanent for FSW? If it is permanent, how you are going to satisfy the officer that you will leave Canada after your permit expires?

Thx Jitu, now I have permanent job offer but I read some posts where people where refused wp because they didn't satisfied immigration officer that they will leave after expiring work permit?
If that is true, I will ask HR in my company to change that on job offer.

I dont know what jobs they are doing..! It really matters which job you are doing. at end of day CIC is concerned that govt is getting taxes. In most cases they fear from ppl who are doing unskilled jobs and may risk of loosing job and stay unemployed in Canada.

if you are in NOC O,A,B and getting fairly paid $14 hr and up you dont need to be afraid of that type rejection

You can apply for the extension a few days of your expiry date, provide the file nr from Service Canada. CIC will hold for two months (implied status).
You should be fine.

People are waiting who have applied in May2012. The average timeline is almost 3.5-4months, I guess you need to be patient and be prepared only to hear something around october.

Guys, was your job offer on one year contract or permanent? I am not sure which is better to enclose? Thanks :)
Please don't get confused, the job contract is base for allotment of LMO. If it is a contract you will be granted LMO for period of contract and hence a work permit will be issued based on positive LMO. So it is clear that if you have permanent indeterminate job offer your LMO will be issued for 3years otherwise for a lesser period and it will be really unfortunate situation if you get it for one year because then again you need to go through same process to get WP extension next year.......and for sure FORGET to use it for PR.

Why forget to use it for PR? Btw a couple of days ago it was announced that on Jan 1st 2013. they will reduce requirements for CEC, you won't need 2 years of work experience but 1. Good luck to all of us :)

To get advantage of LMO points in PR application your work permit should be valid both times i.e at time of application and at time of decision of application, So looking at timeline at CIC website avg time is 15months in most of VISA Offices, so you will need more than one year work permit. If you are waiting to get your one year experience then you might be planning to apply PR after returning back to your home country,

I see. Does applying for PR from home country makes any difference?

I have just got my LMO today. I applied April 5th from USA for LMO. 1 months ago I sent my application and file number to Canada consulate office in US for WP and Visa. now I should send the LMO for WP and Visa. How long do you think it takes for WP and Visa?
