I'm on 19th week of waiting, BC, NOC 2173, top 10% wage (so I'm eligible for 10-days processing, but lawyer said that it's up to ESDC to decide if expedited processing is applicable). Hope to get some news soon.

19th week :o??? thats harsh!
Guess ill be in the same boat too for BC! (NOC 2232)
So is there not a push for your particular industry in BC hence why it could be taking so long?
Also just wondering, you applying from outside Canada? Are people who are applying for LMIA's come from countries under the commonwealth when applying inside or outside of Canada? Just wondering if this plays a part as well as the demand for particular industries?!
Cheers.

Just curious, what do they ask as further questions?

My employers indicated that the bulk of the questions were about a more in depth explanation for why my employer needed to hire my skill sets, the transition plan, etc. Seemed fairly standard and sensical.

My LMIA was applied for BC - NOC 2171 in august - its been just over 2 months? Anyone in similar category , can you share your exprerience?

26th day of waiting today...

LMIA for 2173 BC. Top 10. applying outside canada.

Lawyer said that ESDC started processing the application. (Maybe that means that the fee was taken?)

Yes, this is what they're always asking, standard policy I suppose

My company would like to sponsor me and filed for an LMIA on the 29th July and I am still waiting!! Lawyers have called them multiple times and they have said they have marked it for "processing". I am in the top 10% group for salary which was meant to mean that it would be turned around within 10 days...13 weeks on...still waiting!

No news is good news perhaps...I am desperate to know the outcome though. If I get an positive LMIA, skilled worker express entry should be a breeze...as those with a positive LMIA and a job offer are the first to be selected. Mind you, although they say 6 month turn around for express entry PR, I am not too sure how much I can trust that timeline, considering 10 days has turned into 13 weeks...

Will let you know what happens with mine, when it eventually turns up...I am in MB

Looks like "10-day-processing" rule isn't working.
Btw, does anyone know if there's some max time limit for ESDC to process LMIA application?

So my boss called SC today. They said it takes 8 weeks from the time they start processing the application i.e; from the day fee has been charged. So they said it may take till December 1st week. Have no idea what to do. Have to restore my status before 23 Dec

Interesting, so it looks like we won't be seeing any until mid-end November then?

I wonder what they are supposed to do between actual receiving of application and starting of processing?

Once they receive the application the first stage is to check if the form is filled up properly and necessary documents are added or not. If the application gets through this, they charge you and give the file number . And then send the application to the next stage which is processing

Well, according to lawyer, my application was submitted at the end of June, but acknowledgement of receipt was received only at the end of September.

Seems we cant really judge on timelines and what not..

Every case is different...

Mine is now in progress as apose to pending...

If there is even a difference :/

They always give you the maximum amount of time it can take, wont necessarily take that long.

Can you imagine the uproar if Service Canada were going around telling people it will take 1-2 weeks.

Week 3 they would be fielding hundreds of calls from people wanting an update.

If they give the maximum amount of time it gives SC a large window to work with.

And if you get it before those 8 weeks..
