I suggest you submit your pr application and owp application together.
Then you can still work if you did not get the owp and you can change your jib after you have the owp.
That is better for you.
Btw, everyone in this post is applying under new caring for children pathway.
it won't matter elderly and child care still falls to new pathway, the same number of caps and the same ruling.

Hi Cass77. Yes, I intend to apply under the Caring for Children pathway. I currently hold a live-in caregiver work permit but I understand I am eligible to apply for PR under the new pathway after 24 mos of full time work, and meeting the required CLB and ECA.

I know you understand all the requirements...

I just recommend you to submit applications
in Nov. which you said you are going to finish your 2 years' work under lcp in Nov..
You dont need to extend your current work permit as your wp will last until next Jan...
Just submit OWP and your pr application together. That is all.
You can save money for that. ;D

But that is all my opinion.

You are welcome...
I called cic yesterday. The agent said that I need to wait for about 4 weeks until the cic office in Kitchener will contact me to have a interview...
I will keep posted if I know whoever apply under caring for children pathway...

Thank you Cass77 for the updates. The information is very helpful.

I have some questions:

May I know what additional documents did CIC request from your friend?

For the Schedule 15, Caring for Children Class form, may I know what NOC code did you enter? Is it 6474 or 4411?

I don't know what documents cic needs from my friend. Just family things..
You can check cic.gc.ca to find the noc code.
Mine is 4411, but you better check it by yourself

Hi everyone, I always review this board but this is my first time register in this board.

I am planing to file this coming October 25th under Caring for Children Pathway. Noc Code is 4411.
But i have a question i was caring for elderly for 6 months, after that i am working under child care for 24 months until October.
Am i still eligible to file under Caring for Children Pathway? Not sure. Anyone know about this or your friends have the same situation like me?

Thank you!

Thank you!

No, the NOC code is different. You need to show the NOC code in Schedule 15 form and employer's letter.
Caring for children pathway is code 4411
Caring for high medical needs pathway is code 4412
And, it is showed on the website that you need to work 24 months after the pathway you applied.
