Hi everyone!
My two children and I will be coming to Canada this May. I am so excited but very apprehensive. THis will be my first time and my children's to go abroad. I have fears of getting lost or queueing in the wrong lanes in our terminal 2 airport..hehehe...my children are quite small so this will be a great adventure for me. I'd like to ask for pointers or advise regarding the departure process in NAIA so that I may come prepared for the hassles and everything. thanks! hope to hear some helpful tips.

Hey jazzmatt....dont worry...things will not be as confusing as it is here. If you are stuck anywhere, the best thing is to ask people around, and surely you will receive a warm response.

All the best to you and your children in Canada.

U won't be applying anything/anywhere... the BSO@POE will do the needful and it'd go as per the COPR that u possess.

Hi Qorax,

Thank you for the wonderful posts.

I have a question regarding landing, my family - me, my wife, daughter and son have got the PR visa, unfortunately the situation is we are unable to land together. Me and my wife need to land first and then my children (minor daughter 13 yrs, son 6 yrs) can land. My wife is the PA. Is it official allowed for minor children to land alone ? when they land me and my wife will be in Toronto, can we go to the immigration office @ the airport to complete their landing formalities ? Please guide.

Thanks
AYK

1. As reg. Minor's indep landing, I'm not sure, however I know that they could travel alone & do their paperworks as well in every a/port.

2. U'd not be permitted into the Arrival Bay. But u could approach the immig. counter outside & explain the case. Wherein a BSO, usually female, shall escort the baby/s.

BTW u might be having ur solid reasons to leave ur baby/s behind, however life gets lot easier if u carry them along.

Good luck.

Maybe your wife can land alone first and then you bring the children? If you want a concrete answer if they can land alone, ask the CBSA, see here: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/contact/menu-eng.html for contact info.

Thanks Qorax and Leon for your prompt response, yes you are right life is much easier by taking kids along rather than they having to travel alone, hopefully things will work out, for now as suggest I will check with CBSA.

Dear Captain (Qorax)
I had been reading all your posts which contains lot of useful information for new immigrants and thanks for the same.

I have a question:-
We have to land in July, and currently in UAE. Once upon landing in Toronto, we would like to visit my brother who is in the US. We have a B4 visitors visa to US.

After landing in Toronto, applying SIN Bank A/c etc , after 10 days we plan to visit to US in Phoenix. After that how to come back to Canada as we would not have received our PR cards. Kindly advise.

Regards

Srinivasan

If u travel by road, u wouldn't need the PRCs, ur COPR would suffice for reEntry into Canada. However, if u fly u must have the PRCs, else the carrier wouldn't let u board.

Just to add, if you don't have the PRCs, you have the option to apply for a PR travel document at a Canadian embassy in the US. You can use the travel document to board a plane to come back.

My dearest prof QORAX

Many thanks for your useful information

I intend landing in Vancouver very soon though Calgary is my city for settlement. I want to land in Vancouver because my wife is pregnant and I want her to stay with her sister who is living in Vancouver to deliver the baby. I hope to return to pick my children and resign from my current job.

Sir, how do I go about it
Where should I land with my children
How can my wife come to Calgary

Thank you
