There are two routes, college or Univ. You get your architectural technician license via college and work below architect making on average $54K salary in Toronto, Ontario. A full fledge architect will also have to go to university/ get masters degree and of course makes more than $54k.

Thats Great! I definitely want him to make a salary in that range! Good luck to your husband, its nice that you guys have already put thought into it :)

Good afternoon Zoey,

We will be searching for a plumbing job once hubby arrives but he will look for something else if plumbing doesn't come up. A few people he knows have some jobs lined up for him so we shall see. My husband finished up his plumbing course in JA last year.

Knowing people really helps!! I went to school in hamilton years ago and i recently moved back so I dont know too many ppl that can help with this.

You and hubby will do just fine finding him employment I'm sure.

right now the natural worry wart that i am is worried I will not qualify to sponsor, though I meet all criteria. I am not providing an opt c - due to the fact that all my workplaces have been income tax exempt. So I have letters from the 3 orgs I worked for that state my employment duration, and salary and that it was income tax exempt. I also hope its shows that since 1997 , been consistently employed. any other tips from others that will add weight to my app to sponsor.

When I called yesterday they seem so chilling on the phone and talk about quiet. Like really are they doing work or sleeping on the job
were they able to tell you anything when you called?

She just said it can take months for them to return it. When ever the person gets to it they will send it out.

O&O are you talking about KGN? Did you call and get ahold of someone to ask about the passport that you have been waiting to get back since November? If so, SERIOUSLY, wow how heartless is that!!! Bad enough we have to wait close to two years to have our spouses with us, but then to hold on to the last step for MONTHS...UNACCEPTABLE! I feel so bad for you >:( :'( :-[ Hang in there O&O!!

Yes I called Kingston and got ahold of someone. If they wanted I guess they can hold onto the passport up until the 22 month mark. I waited 14 months what's an extra wait right? Nothing we can do but wait. We will see what happens after the 90day mark. Thanks for feeling bad for me but I come to know how Kingston operates so it's nothing new for me.

Anyone else on the forum from hamilton?

Born and raised here myself. I'm over by St Joes Hospital. I don't think there is anyone else on here from the hammer.
