Hi Everyone,

Just back from Jamaica. I went to the Embassy, to drop off new police record with hubby. They would not allow us to hand it in, because it was Wednesday. so we went to DHL and couriered it. Anyway, I was wondering if anyone has the link to obtain the notes. I would like to see what they have done since September. Last I looked they had extended medical til July/2014 and had a bring forward date of April 2014.

Thanks for your help

Congratulations!!!! Nini covered everything I was going to say...the checklist was my best friend...I must have went over that thing a billion times! :) How was your wedding!? Did you love it?! Hope everything worked out and it was a perfect day! :) ;D

My wedding turned out to be better than what I expected. I have been filling out the application since August and gathering all the information I need. I spend at least 2 hours a night reviewing the guide and application. I can't wait to submit it. Just waiting for my certificate and wedding pics to be developed

There has been lots of good advice already given re: putting your application together but I found this thread had some really good tips too:

http://www.canadavisa.com/canada-immigration-discussion-board/how-i-organized-our-applcation-and-a-summary-of-all-helpful-tips-i-have-learned-t92449.0.html

I used the checklists as a guide and made sure all forms and documents were in the order listed on the 2 checklists (main checklist plus the country specific one).

Then I had a few large envelopes with the proof of relationship: cards/letters, emails, facebook logs, receipts from trips to Jamaica (boarding passes, hotel/car receipts etc), Digicel call log. I included about 50 photos and I just wrote on the back who was in them and where/when they were taken. About 12 of the photos were from the wedding.

I did a cover letter outlining our relationship and put that on the very top of the pile.

here is a picture of the application:

Thanks for the great advice !

So!!! Anyone else see that Toronto has a new Jamaican in town? Rob Ford has made us all so proud...again...

Did you guys see him chatting up in Patwah!?! man...wacko...

On the brightside maybe this will be broadcast in JA and it will remind Kingston they need to send the REAL Jamaicans to us to avoid imposters! :P :D

Good Morning everyone,

Mrs.Parkin I seen the video on the news last night just unbelievable. The news just can't find anything worth while to put on. I'm pretty sure the video is viral once again it's on YouTube so hopefully KGN watches it and brings our spouses home.

Im from toronto, and dying with embarrassment on the shenanigans of Rob Ford. I just watched this video this morning and almost chocked on my porridge

a letter needs to be prepared by the ex. mother of my stepson, she resides abroad - left over 6 years ago, and my husband has been raising his son on his own. She is in agreement that he joins us and so I am sponsoring him too, of course. Can't wait, awesome boy with manners..ever notice how well behaved kids are there compared to ours lol.

my question is what needs to be on the letter, there was no formal arrangements, she just left on a work visa to the US and never returned!!

Anyone have advise for me...btw my husband and son had a good medical exam yesterday. almost there, just going thru the checklist for the 50th or so time.

Ohhh goodness...Mr. Ford has done it again! It's amazing to see the reactions though - individuals I know living in Toronto are almost split on their take of him...some will vote him back into office - others are appalled.

Yes..KGN..give us our spouses sil vous plait! :)

Ps, happy hump day!!! I'm sooooo ready for this artic vortex mumbo jumbo to end.....

AWWWW!!! Come on, Ford is epic and funny!!! You can't be embarrassed, as I was saying to Mrs. P this morning, you gotta just laugh. And let's be honest, black or white, we have ALL spoken patois at one point or another, but it's his societal status that makes the entire thing absurd.

hmm I should speak for my own..re comment on kids. mostly the laziness..I could not get over how well behaved/mannered the kids were in my family household during my 5 weeks there..every morning, his son and nephews were up doing chores before school and always displayed manners, during dining time. They would always greet me with a good morning/ or evening when they arrived from school. doing their homework without being prompted..

Bahhaha - My parents are born Jamaicans...speak patois to me every single day..I've been to and from Jamaica since I was a wee lad...and my patois is HORRID ???!
