Hello Everyone,

Im new to this forum but looking for some support on how this the file process goes. I was qualified for our sponcership on July 3rd, 2013. The letter said that they would forward the papers to the Canadian embassy in Jamaica. Does anybody know how long it take for the Canadian embassy in Jamaica to respond saying they have your papers? Or is this the letter of receipt that this forum is talking about?

Thanks for any help,
April

Hi CJA and welcome to our little forum family! :D

Don't expect to hear a lot from Kingston throughout your journey -- they are a quiet bunch until you are nearing the end of the process.

We're here to support you through thick and thin!

Sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride!!!!

Good afternoon/evening Jam Fam!!!!

I hope everyone is enjoying their 'extra' hour this weekend! :D

It's nice to see some activity on the forum over the weekend and some new faces.

May tomorrow be the beginning of a very busy PPR month for Kingston!!!!

OH. MY. GOODNESS!!!

I need to call to confirm a change in phone numbers for my husband and I .... and the wait time is more than 1 hour on the phone?! What the heck???

Do you guys know of any better times of day to call? Like first thing or later?

if your app has gone down to JA already I would suggest sending an email also to them......I did the same with my hubbys and I changed his number but they still ended up calling the old number anyways even though I had sent an email stating the change in phone number.

Good Monday morning! Sending out best wishes for our 2012 applicants!!!
We want to see a lot of November news to cheer about!!!

What is their email? I sent the change of information, but I am going to hunt them down until I confirmation that they have the new numbers. Neither of us even have access to our old phone numbers at all.

Also, how in the world do some people get through in a matter of 5 months? I personally know a couple that from time the application was mailed until the day he landed it took them 5 months, 1 weeks.

Is it just the luck of the draw?

Hi,

That's the same thing I was wondering, because as stated previously by myself and others... we have all known someone who "got through" in just a few months ::), I think that's why we were all shocked to be in this long process :'(. Question... did they apply recently?... because those that I know were from a few years ago.

OH! Also, when would his medicals and criminal expire (if they do)?

We were told by his immigration officer friend to make sure we send everything in at once and not to wait until they ask for it, otherwise it could hold up his processing. So they already have everything. Literally everything.

It was from 2012, but I didn't think that would matter so much. Feb or march of 2012 if am not mistaken. And I knew not to expect their lucky 5 months, but I am still praying for an 8-9 month turnaround, though I know it will be much longer. Expecting the worst, but hoping for the best kind of thing, you know?
