Awww, thanks for your support, danielle. I would love to have my hubby home with me for Christmas and so would everyone else on the forum that is waiting to be reunited! :D

I emailed Kingston just before his medical and police certificate were expiring. KG replied and asked my hubby to re-do the police certificate (they also sent him a letter in the mail) and they told us his medicals had been extended; the information is also in our GCMS notes.

Excellent Thanks for the info!

BTW.... I'm all about the support on here !! :-*

P.S. I wonder if chickie is ready for a BIG FAMILY DINNER at her house... kiddies included :)

Since Stage 2 processing begins from the date of Sponsorship approval, our 20 months mark won't be until Feb 2014!!!! To be honest the posted timelines don't mean much to me at this point...

oo... also do you know the name of your Immigration officer? Or initials?

I'm in Hamilton but use to live in Brampton. Still visit there all the time

Have a baby is great. Not having my husband here for the birth or just being here in General is hard. She's 5 months now but I was lucky and spent almost 2 months down there after she was born. I will be going back in a few months to spend probably another couple months there. Really hoping he's here before I'm done my mat leave. If you go back a few pages you will see a couple pics of my sweet little chunky monkey

Awww! When I go through the thread, I cannot see any photos, but I see where you referenced them (fall.Halloween photoshoot, etc) I'm sad, I would have loved to see you little one!!!

My hubby not being here for the birth and general emotional support is my biggie. I would hate for him to miss out on any of that stuff!

Thanks Sammy!

We applied May 29, 2013. And I received approval June 18, 2013 (so maybe closer to 20 days - lol). We were married on Feb. 13, 2013 on his MoBay property.

I look forward to having people that can relate. I'm so tired of hearing "OMG, I could NEVER do what you are doing with the long distance." I get it's in awe, but sometimes I just am not in the mood to hear it.

It's a struggle and now my husband and I are talking babies... *eeps! I'm on the fence about getting pregnant before he comes, but being 30, makes me think that perhaps we should start trying!

Any questions or clarifications, I'm an open book so please don't be afraid to ask :D

Welcome among our forum Family ninirae!
We are all hearing the same things from everyone that isn't familiar with this long process and we can find here lots of support, laughing, sometimes shoulder to cry on and plenty of info. We we're all lurkers once and wanted to join in after a while :P

My husband and I are looking forward to start a Family as well, but I'm a bit reluctant to do it on my own for a while... 30 is young, I'm near 40 soon lol! I raised my almost 20 years old son being a single mom, and not too exited about doing it again even for few months, to my hubby's huge disappointment because he doesn't have any children. We'll put ourselves to work when we know that this long journey is about to end. My biological clock is ticking, but the movement is still on ;)

Welcome again!

Good week-end to my forum FAM!

I wanted to wish a wonderful trip to my Montreal girl Jamaicansnowflake who's leaving early tomorrow morning to see the love of her life. Have a blast sweetie!!!

Also wish a wonderful day and perfect wedding to Cocovanilla who will tie the knot on Sunday.

Rest well all Kingston immigration officiers. We're in November now, so make calls for PPR and return the stamped visa and passeport to their owners, we are eager to hear good news and landing stories!!!

:D HAPPY WEDDING DAY MR & MRS COCOVANILLA! :D

Safe travel to Jamaciansnowflake

Happy Wedding Day to Mr and Mrs CocoVanilla

Welcome to all the newbies and the unlurkers

Everyone else enjoy your weekend

The departure slip I submitted with my application

Hello Everyone,

Im new to this forum but looking for some support on how this the file process goes. I was qualified for our sponcership on July 3rd, 2013. The letter said that they would forward the papers to the Canadian embassy in Jamaica. Does anybody know how long it take for the Canadian embassy in Jamaica to respond saying they have your papers? Or is this the letter of receipt that this forum is talking about?

Thanks for any help,
April

Hey there welcome to the family. It usually takes about 2 weeks to get from Mississauga to the embassy in JA. Nobody ever gets a AOR to let them know it is down there. Most of us about a month later just sent kingston and email asking them if they have received the file and they will normally send you a generic email saying yes they have. Hope that helps and if you need anything else don't be afraid to ask that is what we are here for!

Hello April welcome to our forum family chickie can add you to the spreadsheet if you want. Underneath her ticker you will see the spreadsheet for all the members that has landed in dark green, light green passport request and white are waiting. Kingston doesn't send out an AOR confirming that they have received your application. You can send an email to Kingston at Kingston-immigration@international.gc.ca with your name, date of birth and client number along with your husbands name, date of birth and file number.

I emailed Kingston back in august and they never replied. I emailed them asking if they had received our application and whether or not to send in another medical as my husbands current medical expires at the end of November here. On the online services on the cic website it says the application has been received for permanent residence on May 27th and they have it listed that the medical has been received as well. So I guess its just a waiting game for them to catch up. And sure I don't mind about the spreadsheet.
