Hi Sebella,

I remembered reading something on the forum about tattoos a while back.... Did a search and found these posts from Jamgirl:

Did your husband do the medical in Montego Bay? How much did it cost? Did he have to pay for the blood tests separately? My fiance will be doing his in October so just wanted to know what the fees are these days.

Thanks,
CV
:)

And yes my husband did do the medical in Montego Bay. I believe it cost him around $12000 JMD? It would have been $10000 except he had to pay extra for the fact he has tattoos. He didn't have to wait too long for an appointment either he called last week and got the appointment for yesterday :)

Hi Again!

Thanks for everyones help...........
Can you please clarify something on the ECAS
When you are in process............ at the Canadian office and then it changes to Detemined and you get the letter stating you have been approved, then it goes to Kingston and it says Application received.......... then they add medicals recieved, I have noticed that somepeople have said it says in process on the KIngston side...........

Does this status "in process" get posted after medicals received?

Also due to some medical issues my husband had the first medical submitted in February, then Canadian Immigration sent him a letter and he had to follow up with the Immigration Dr in Kingston, who then forwarded clearance (of no TB) to Kingston. After that letter they changed it to medicals recieved....... any idea if this means the process is delayed?

One last thing --- the Kingston office, how many applicaitons does it process per month?

Thanks for all your help!

Joanne

Thanks for dropping a tune, sista!

And of course he's singing the song to you! :P

Heard back from my mp today. Apparently because my application has not hit one year yet, all they can tell me is that they received his Medicals and passed his criminal record check ... Duh!
I was looking for them to tell me something that they didn't tell me 6 months ago when I contacted them then!

Blah!
On the brighter side. 7 more sleeps. :)

Something interesting.
My mp said that we aren't supposed to get the Medicals done unless it is requested. Which is weird. And then she said that SOME applications from certain countries request it from the beginning. But for the most part they should complete and send it in when requested so time doesn't run out on you because they are only valid for a year.

I wish Canada was standard across the board!

So I am coming up to my year next month since we applied does that mean my MP can start doing something for me then? I thought they couldnt till its reached its 18 to 20 months. the processing time?? I hope I can start using my MP sooner then later.

My hubby did his medical April 2012 and we still havent heard anything yet. Also his police record check in April 2012.

You should also add to the Kingston Excel Sheet for me.....
April 25, 2013 Additional medical info requested
June 1, 2013 Medicals recieved

I also applied online for ATIP . does anyone know how I can check and see where they are at in the process............ isnt there some kind of release you can pay for and you can see if they have done the Criminal Clearance etc?
:o

so confused over this whole process...............

Hi again everyone,

I got so side-tracked that I couldn't message you guys again. I went through many notes and I can't believe the Kingston Embassy is so wicked. All y'all need to do what I did, just keep bothering their butts. Even when they say don't email them no more, make your husband email them, if they tell him don't email them then create a new email address and email them from there. Keep bothering their a$$es. And when they get tired of you, email the head boss over there, I really think when I emailed the commissioner, they started working a little faster.

I understand they're understaffed but at the end of the day were told that having your husband leave makes the process faster when in fact it's worse. And for husbands that have never been to Canada there should be no reason why the process should take over a year.

I'm still working on the longest letter to send to the Mr. Jason Kenney and the embassy in Jamaica to have them see how unorganized and ridiculous this whole process is. I`ve saved every email, every detail and when I`m done with my report, it`ll be at least 25 pages long. They need to see who ridiculous they are.

I`m praying for all of you guys though, I`ve been through this, the lonliness, the tears, single parenting, it`s hard. Just remain strong and pray.
