As of now, I haven't received any updates from CIC. Should they inform me upon the receipt of my application?

Hi haraman,

How did you send your application package? If you have used any registered postal service (any provider, e.g. Canada Post, Purolator, UPS etc.), you should have a tracking number. Using that tracking number, you can find out when exactly your package was delivered to Sydney, NS.

Having said that, since you had sent your package on the 13th of January, it should have reached Sydney, NS by now.

December XX, 2013: filled out application
January 03, 2014: paid fees online
January 04, 2014: taken pictures
January 06, 2014: application printed
January 09, 2014: application mailed (Canada Post, regular mail).

According to the agents (over the telephone), I should get an acknowledgement letter by mid-March, stating that the application is received.

I expect to get citizenship by February, 2016 latest.

Physical presence: 1349 days.

Processing times are different based on your local office. I would say most of Jan 2014 applications will get their in-process status in March.

I thought all applications are being open by the sydney office and put it in ecase before they dispach it to local office
