Indian PCC help

Hi all,

I am applying for Indian PCC tomorrow.

1) I stay close to the Indian Embassy at Bloor St. Can I walk-in there with the checklist, forms and apply in person there?

2) If not, will the BLS-Lawrence accept the PCC? I saw in the Indian Embassy site to mail applications only to Brampton BLS. Will other BLS offices do not accept them if applied in person?

3) I know the max timeframe is 6 weeks, but by when can I expect the Indian PCC done by the Embassy? I have my IELTS on Aug 29th and I need my passport by then.

4) Will the BLS even take the original workpermit with the passport?

Indian Consulate do not accept the application for PCC. You have to go to BLS only.

Yes they does in person as well.

Depends case to case. Generally it is within 4 weeks.

Mishki has asnwered the queries really well.

Just want add , As you have your IELTS on Aug 29 , just in case you dont get your PCC , then i think you should be able to withdraw PPC request and get your passport back. This way you can get your IELTS done.

You will have to reapply for PCC again though. Personally IELTS is more important at the start as your can submit PCC even after you submitted your PR application.

Hi,

PCC from India alone is enough... We don't need to submit PCC from Canada. It is not a requirement.

Seniors, pls correct me if i'm wrong.

If you are already in Canada and applying then Canada police clearance is not needed.

You would need only the Indian PCC.

Reg #3 I was in the same situation as you, but I decided to go for IELTS first and then apply PCC. It's been three months now and I have not received the PCC from the consulate. You never know when you'll receive the PCC, I have seen some instances where people recevied after 6 months. So I suggest you to apply for PCC after IELTS exam.

Just wanted to know..will the BLS office keep my indian passport and work permit both with them or they will return it to me immediately over the counter after verification and just take the photocopies for the purpose of indian PCC??

Today I submitted PCC at B las and they took my Work Permit with the passport.

oh..that is really incomprehensible.. ???..why they need the work/study permit??..and also what is the need to keep the original passport with them till the PCC is issued?? really surprising ???which BLS office did u submit ur PCC application??
