Indian passport surrender

Looking to submit our surrender certificate this week and wondering what the BLS closure means for our application. A bit worried about submitting it so close to their closure in December 2025. Anyone that has October timeline for surrender, please post here!
Hi, i applied my application on the 16th October will let you know when i receive it.
I submitted mine on 25th Oct. Will keep you posted.
If they are closing in Dec '25, then it means they will positively close all applications before that date and possibly even stop accepting new applications for anything a few days before their last date.
Just review the instructions on the BLS and consulate websites with a fine tooth comb and make sure you don't miss anything. For instance, the sample application form instructions tells you to state your marital status as what is given on your Indian passport (which indirectly implies that we shouldn't mention our marital status as of today). In my case, this instruction was crucial because my marital status as per my Indian passport was different from the time of acquiring Canadian citizenship. Their instructions truly do have everything you need to have a smooth experience there.
Hello, we applied for my wife's Indian Passport surrender on 22 September 2025. We then traveled to India and now only I have returned back to Canada as my wife and bay are staying for a few months in India. In the meantime, while we were overseas, the Surrender Certificate and Cancelled Indian Passport of y wife was sent, since we were not at home to collect, it was returned back to BLS. Since my wife is not here, how should I proceed with getting the passport and SC to be redelivered. I tried emailing them and we get a reply to contact the helpline to initiate the redelivery process. The helpline number keeps disconnecting with a default message to submit an online escalation form. Has anyone been in this situation before? Thanks in advance.
Is name and address both are needed ? I face issue in filling numbers in Address only alphabet allowed (no comma, -) . Will they reject if I fill name and city name only?
Good riddance but VFS is equally worse! So they now have monopoly, we might be stuck with an even worse service experience
