Indian passport surrender

My status is showing this now. It's supposed to come to your home address if you opted for postal right?

Hi everyone!

I’ve been trying to submit my passport surrender application under the Vancouver jurisdiction on the Passport Seva site. Each time I fill everything in, but the generated PDF is missing my phone number, email, address line 2/3, and all emergency contact info. I read this is a known bug and that you can handwrite the missing fields, but BLS Edmonton rejected my form.

To make things worse, my appointment was for 12 PM, but I was only called close to 5 PM (after their 4:30 closing time), and then told my form was invalid. I also noticed the printed form only says “Application form for surrender of Indian passport” without mentioning Vancouver, which the BLS agent claimed was required.

Has anyone else faced this? How did you get BLS to accept your form? Any advice would be much appreciated! Thanks in advance.

They have the $100 premium service where they do the form filling for you. Because of it all such rejection happens. If its too much hassle you can opt for it.

Any luck? I am facing the same issue. Its been a while. I am thinking there is issue with my PC, but looks like there are others who are facing this issue too.
How did you navigate through this?

So I submitted everything using premium lounge service, but they did not make me self attest any documents. Not sure what that means.. expecting a rejection at this point
and a redo. fun times.

Consulate might ask you to submit it via email if needed. Rejection won't happen for it.

I can't get the activation email for my spouse

When I try to login I get "account is not activated".

Password for my own account from 3 years ago expired and I didn't get the forgot password email either mid week but was able to get in using the security question.
Any workaround to register successfully?

Was going to try Monday IST business hours otherwise

Yes active since 2022

For reference, it worked during IST business hours with a different userid

Hi Everyone,
Not sure if this is the right thread but here is my doubt. I have Oath coming up on Oct 14th and travelling to India on Nov 25th. Question:
1. should we take the Oath and apply for Canada passport? do we have ample time to get the Canadian passport? How long does it take usually?
2. Any issue if we travel with Canada passport ( with e-Visa for India)? As, we wont be able to surrender India passport by then.

Would really appreciate if someone can guide me here! Thanks in advance.

You can pay more and get your Canadian passport faster. You can travel with Canadian passport and evisa without surrendering your Indian passport
