How I organized our applcation and a summary of all helpful tips I have learned

Hey guys am almost done with my application. just a few stuff left,i have some questions, i now have left my envelop 3 to arrange and I was wondering how to go about my tickets and receipts of our time together. Do I just add the original copies or scan them or make copies ,secondly should I write to explain each and everyone of the tickets and stuff or would it be better if I put all the original tickets and receipts and write an explanation on a separate sheet showing there use and time. OK am confused help.

my experience is that you won't get originals returned. We are still waiting for our wedding cards (even though the guide said to attach originals)...so I suggest you send scans.

I didn't bother writing any explanation...just made a cover page and then all the pages of printed boarding passes or copies). The pictures I submitted showed where we went

"FAMILY NAME OF SPONSOR, First name
IMM 5540 Sponsor Questionnaire
Question 11"

Is this okay? Do I need to include a DOB for myself and for my husband's additional documents?

It really does not matter if it is two or three envelopes as long as you have all the documents and a cover letter and printed codes included as the immigration officer will take it apart and arrange it as they require it. I received a copy of mine from them and everything I sent including pictures were photocopied and the pages numbered all 600 pages. I sent 3 envelopes ,exactly like the original poster. The reason I got a copy is I requested it from them after our visa was denied. You should keep a copy of your total application as you do not get any originals back to the best of my knowledge.

There is no right or wrong on how many envelopes are needed to submit your application. We kept all the documents in order of the checklist and put it in one big envelope with cover letter, barcodes and big table of contents on the top. Do what makes sense for you! As long as all the forms, documents and proof are included, that's all that matters!

Your post has been so helpful as we have tried to prepare our application. It is taking longer than we thought it would - mostly because of laying out all the 'proof of relationship' stuff. Whew.

We are almost ready to submit, I'm just going through to clean things up and the last big problem I am running into is filling the forms in clearly on the computer. The boxes on the pdf are too small to fit the info. For the longer questions with paragraph answers, we just attached another sheet, but the problem is the little boxes like for filling in job titles, universities, etc - the boxes cut off half the words and they won't be able to read the answers when printed.

Did you come across this problem? Any suggestions?

What I did was if there was not enough space to fill in even just one box (for e.x. job title) then what I did was put "Please see attached IMM 5490 Appendix" through the boxes and attach another sheet that had the Applicant Name - IMM form number - Title of Question as a header.

I have been researching about a cover letter for the spousal visa.

Is it the same as the Sponsor Support Letter?

I wrote a 4 page statement detailing my name, address, the first time I met my husband (the PA), our first kiss, date, how we developed our relationship into a marriage, and why I want to come home with him.

Hm. Is it true that a full cover letter is only necessary when there is something odd or missing from the application and then a Sponsor support letter goes after the Sponsor application forms as a part of the Supporting documents to prove the relationship is genuine?

People are using it interchangeably but this cover letter business is confusing me since I already wrote a support letter but I don't see how it should be called a cover letter as well.

A cover letter IMO is short and concise BUT is this even what everyone is talking about?

Hello. Can you please tell more about cover letter. What kind of letter it is? Who did you write there?

The cover letter was just very basic, dates, address, contact information, what type of application we are submitting (for us both inland/OWP), signed by my husband (the principle applicant). I don't think the cover letter is necessary, but just a nice quick formal intro to our application.
