Financial support

Hi I am in the process of gathering proofs for sponsorship application. I need some advice regarding financial support section. Me and my wife are not really sending each other money every month because she is stable in Japan and I was a student in Canada. What we have are just gift receipts and boxes (with declaration form that includes prices) , shared expenses for our trips like hotel, theme parks, concerts (no receipts but we have the ticket), I have sent some money but it is not really significant amount ($100 at best). She also spend some money for me as well but idk if that will count as financial support since i am the sponsor. I need advice regarding this because most of some applicants I noticed have sent money to their loved ones in which is not in my case. Also, what counts as a financial support?

Another question I have is that, I have no pictures of a wedding since we got married through civil wedding in Japan. Part of the reason also is that I just graduated ,and I just got my nursing job this year. We have no significant savings to do traditional wedding so we are hoping to do traditional wedding in the future. What I have is the photos of us together during our outings, pictures with family and friends at different events (dinner and outings). All we have is photo of signing a marriage paper at a ward in Tokyo. We also don't have engagement photos (pls don't judge me on this) what is important for me is closing the distance for us both and also I just got my nursing job so I was still broke at the time. Our marriage is just recent. We've been together for 4 years before we got married this year.

did you just read my what I said? I was a student. Now I got a nursing job at a hospital right after I graduated this year. You’re very helpful. If you have nothing nice to say just zip it. I’m not putting up you bs

I probably have more on my savings than you do. Let’s be realistic, who works when you’re a full time student especially being a nursing student for 4 years? Anyways, you’re very helpful.

-If you have not been 'supporting' each other because you're both self-sufficient, should not really be an issue - just write a short letter of explanation to that effect. Then include some of the small things that you have done and mentioend above.

-Having a big public wedding acc to local traditions is effectively required for arranged marriages, and can be important for those who marry in socieities where it's very important and esp eg when the applicants have not known each other long/never lived together.

I'm not in a position to comment on Japanese culture (assuming you are both Japanese which I don't know either), but my personal impression is that it's rather secular in that respect, and wouldn't be unusual there to just have civil wedding. If that is more or less correct, then just write a short letter of explanation that you were both happy with the civil wedding. Includ photos and proofs for other events and time together.
