Did you do question 18 in the checklist? you stated you were unemployed when you applied.

I don't remember which question etc...but I was unemployed for almost a year when I had applied to sponsor my husband. Sent screenshots of the front page of my banking info online...which didn't account for much either. Although I was working previously and Option C showed healthy income.

It didn't affect me in obtaining sponsorship...as they don't assess spousal sponsorship for financial eligibility (other than if the sponsor was on social assistance).

This is what CIC office looks like after receiving tons of unnecessary documentation. They don't look for your organizational skills, resumes, unclaimed talents, hobbies or 500 pictures of pets you have owned. That is a terrible advice and slows down processing times for everyone.
Send only what is necessary.

Hilarious lol...this might increase the processing time by a year...not to mention the misplacement of important documents in the process.

Hi I am almost done preparing my application (I am the principal applicant) applying Outland Manila Visa office. I just want to know in which form I should indicate that I am applying Outland and my preferred visa office is Manila?

Hey all. There have been a number of returned applications because the Use of Representative form was bot submitted even though a representative was not used and NA was indicated on the checklist. Somebody at CIC is screwing up but until they are corrected I suggest that you do the following:

1) write NA or not applicable if you did not use a representative AND

2) include the form with a big line drawn across it and write "Not applicable - representative not used" on the form and include it with your package.

If your package was rejected because of this I suggest you write to your MP explaining this and asking CIC why their instructions say not to include forms not required in an application when the package seems to be rejected afrer CIC instructions were followed.

Somebody needs to find the person in Ottawa who is making this mistake and correct them.

So I don't need to check question 16 in the checklist? I was looking at it and I'm not sure if question 16 is just for me or for her too. She's the only who was previously divorced..

Hey Jenrhea,

You can send your medicals with the application OR you can choose to wait until a CIC employee requests it.

You risk your application being delayed if you don't send it up front, however. Most would recommend sending it upfront, but the choice is yours.

Photo copies of both. The only originals you need to send are police certificates. You will not receive anything you send, back. Do not send originals of the marriage certificate or birth certificates.

So I'm about to pay the sponsorship fees and it's confusing.

I'm sponsoring my wife and her son (dependent) who is 8 years of age.
How much would I be paying? I'm not sure how to proceed.

I'm considering paying the Right of Permanent Residence Fee after the sponsorship goes through, should I pay it together? I don't want to loose the money if there's something wrong with the sponsorship forms.
