Think I am just going to try to not gnaw off my fingers and wait.

I had a service concierge key from (Extension of Stay) before I got a GC Key. I used the GC Key to link application and in service concierge it is not there and I don't want to re-link is service concierge again so I will try wait until they resolve the issue.

You can call Shared Services Canada and start nagging about GCKey not working... dollars to donuts that would get some traction over a CSE...

I've tried to register a new one GCKey... And got new behavior. After I input my login and password and then press continue, I am redirected to the very home page http://www.cic.gc.ca/ Cleared cache, different browsers...

So as an outcome. I have 3 accounts: mine, wife's and the new one. Mine works perfectly, wife's got error-500 and the new one is redirected to the main page cic.gc.ca

+1 for unit testing.

But it's really annoying. Like a fate. To work all day searching for bugs at work and then in the evening to do the same at home. But at work I at least can fix these bugs or to look at the code. And here I feel to be blind.

Speaking to them now 613 670 1627 and they say they usually only deal with employees. I directed her to www.cic.gc.ca, then to MyCIC, then GC Key. She then came back and said to call CIC technical problems number 613 654 1000.

Edited: When I called the 613 654 1000 the person who answered said that this number was only for CIC tech staff to call and then said I should to go back to CIC website and call the contact number there.

Yup. I can't help but laugh at it. The 500 is bubbling up from an uncaught exception somewhere (my guess), and I suspect it's relating to a subset of the logon data rows. So, they changed something to do with the GCKey specifically (SecureKey's work), and the process between SSC and CIC's web servers. Dollars to donuts it was a column change (length? maybe they screwed up a hash?). But again, I am totally blind too...

You know, there was some maintenance work on Friday and after that GCKey got broken. So, the first suggestion - they deployed some new code and it broke the system. But why not to rollback it?!

You can do that? OMG! But wait, does that imply that you have to have a BACK-OUT PLAN???

I hope you caught the sarcasm in my text...

To think that this IRCC is in charge of our applications, no wonder they go "missing" or we do not get e-mails that they supposed "sent". SMH

I do this kind of thing for a living. Always, always, always you have a meeting to prepare and to get appropriate steps identified and completed before ANY CODE CHANGE IS PROMOTED....

Oh wait, I just realised there is a problem with our logic..

I will take bets that these guys are working live, with no testing...

So you guys think this will take a while to resolve right?

In non techie terms, they updated the system and the GC Keys got deleted? Do they have a back up or will we have to re-link when they fix it?

I think no one knows that, but...

I got it, I got it!! I linked my application to my account! Fantastic...

Yeah without seeing anything behind the scenes, we can only guess.

My guess is try back next week. I don't think the GCKeys are gone...
