In the ds160, the question is like this - 'Address where you will stay in US'. If the house is not near border, how can we give Canadian address in this section? Flying 2.5 hours or traveling 5/6 hours cannot be done daily right.. so the address wherever one stays near the work when they go to US should be given there right?
Hi,

You are talking about a different section that is under "TRAVEL" .There you have to give US address obviously. I was asking about the section: "Address and Phone " . this will be our permanent address, which will be Canada from now on in my case atleast(as suggested by @harirajmohan as well).

Got it.. yes, there we can give Canadian address. But I think people who commute to Detroit daily give Canadian address for travel section too if I'm not wrong. That's what I was trying to get clarified.

Correct. Yes we need to give US address there as there is no option to provide out of country address.
My lawyer earlier recommended on using the address like below (if one commutes daily and there is no address in US):
Address where you will stay in the U.S.: Undetermined
City, State, Postal/Zip Code: City of Work, State of Work, zip code.

Not sure why I did not get the cancellation email. I have rescheduled my interview to May in Vancouver not sure how things will be around by that time.
Hi ,

Immediately after they have cancelled your appointment, did you open the site to check any immediate appointments were available?

Hi @harirajmohan , any idea on, when a person's appointment is cancelled would the same person be able to see that date being available immediately if he opens or atleast would that date can be seen by others.

For eg: Now as @Andyscm15 appointment was cancelled for 7th Dec in Montreal, if i login immediately, would i be able to see the slot(as i am a local resident and wanted to book here ofcourse). If yes, then all we people with pending appointments can open a thread to help each other if there are any cancelled appointments, so that they can convey in the group and others can book them immediately.

I think that they are still not serving regular appointments. So no point in trying to capture the appointments. desmat also tried the same and got the appointment preponed but it ultimately got cancelled within 2 weeks of appointment.

Its better to book the appointment a month ahead to assess if they are really going to serve the appointment. This one month will give us time to plan to travel/attend and would at least know the cancellation weeks earlier hence we would avoid travel arrangement, if not it would be last minute appointment cancellation which will lead to cancellation of all planned travel arrangement/bookings/leaves etc.

There are no available appointments in Toronto. Almost all appointments in Canada are being cancelled. The earliest appointment you can get is in June, 2021 in Vancouver. Additionally, if you are not a PR/Citizen or immediate family member of one, you cannot travel to Canada. Even if you have a visitor visa, you cannot travel to Canada for now.

Hey thanks for the reply ... I have COPR and if I have to do soft landing I would not be able to come back to US without stamping ... I have applied for h4 extension and it is pending with USCIS. So AVR won’t work. What are the other options do I have ?

Can emergency stamping appointments be made for h4 in Toronto if the husband is working on h1b in USA?
No one can guarantee the criteria of approval. It all depends on the officer but you can certainly give it a try as nothing to lose instead of waiting for regular appointment.
So create the profile, pay the fee , book some date and then click on requesting emergency appointment to request and wait for their approval.

No one knows. Wait till 15days before the appointment and see if they cancel. if not then travel next day(14 days before appointment).

Current address will be Canada. Work address would be of US.
Intended travel dates dont matter if its earlier date while comparing to actual appointment date.. For most, this becomes the same.
Regarding putting Canadian address in DS160, I believe that USCIS address change site doesn't accept Canadian address and accepts only USA residence address. Having said this, my address in USCIS is still my Michigan address (which I still own). Would it still be okay to put Canadian address in DS160 given that this will not match the residence address in USCIS's website?

Thank you
Ajeya

DS160: i used to put undecided as street address and the city as my office location. you can even put that US address even if you wont move. if asked you can very well tell that the system was not allowing Canadian address. it should be fine.
USCIS: forget about whats there when it was filed. doesnt matter for visa processing.

Ok. They might respond few days earlier too. What date did you request the appointment for?
I also submitted request on Sep 21 to Toronto for oct 5 appointment.
For the backup date, did you find any regular appointment date? Mine is Jan6.

Edit on Sep 22: I got the appointment approved for Oct 6th. I gave the reason as Financial loss since i am paying 2 rent(Canada and US). I planned to move before covid started hence i did arrangement earlier but got stuck. So possibly they considered this problem and approved the expedited request and it seems we can request something other than the emergency reasons listed in the site.
When you said Financial loss, did they ask you for proofs? I did not the point of paying rent in Canada and US, as i remember, you stay in Canada and you would have given the place of residence in Ds-160 also as Canada but how were you able to say paying rent in US again? i am totally confused.

Bought a condo in US in Nov2019 to plan to move to US in Jul2020 with the visa appointment for Apr2020. So you know rest of the story.
