If that is the case, IRCC should stop accepting and inviting individuals from outside of Canada who know nothing about the Canadian culture. Prioritizing temporary residents who are established in Canada will not create any pressure on social services. As far as skills are concerned, they are many skilled professionals among temporary residents and refugees inside Canada who are ready to contribute to Canadian economy.
Recently another country added to (ADR) list of country.

I do not get it, if you are working for a good Canadian company and you have a professional position how come not able to hire a very good lawyer ?
did you receive OWP extension or ended up with bogus asylum claim ?

I agree with this statement. If they are really thinking about inflation, infrastructure and economy, they should start with in Canada applications first and stop torturing people who already established here.

They are. The economic programs heavily favour those already in Canada with Canadian job experience and education. The volume of people versus the number of spots for economic immigration doesn’t match up. There are also certain skills that are needed versus others therefore those are being prioritized. With a pretty high unemployment rate, especially amongst younger people, and a bad economy Canada can’t absorb the volume of temporary residents wanting to remain. Sadly that is just the reality. Would add temporary residents already have put pressure on many services and infrastructure which is one of the issues why the goal is to reduce the volume of temporary residents. The goal is to try to decrease some of the pressure.

H and C is like refugee program is meant for people from war torn and unstabe countries who will face exeptional hardship if return to their home countries. Rightnow, target numbers are small, shrinking, and will not even accomodate genuine applications, unless IRCC likes issuing AIP without approval for second stage and people will adapt to living in Canada on work permits.

H&C is not for people from war torn countries or even many unstable countries that is what the asylum system is for.

The LMIA requirements regarding unemployment for census metropolitan areas is a joke. As soon as there are workers that become PRs, the employers are right away contacting their immigration agencies for more TFWs. I have spoken to some TFWs at certain restaurants and they told me that they are awaiting 4 more TFWs to arrive from the philippines already instead of hiring workers that are already in Canada, regardless of status. Such a joke.

Hi everyone, I just got my AIP two days ago and they asked me to submit proof that I am not on social assistance. Has anyone else sent something for this? what proof did you submit? for context, my work permit expired in the middle of this long waiting game so I haven't been working but I have savings and live with family members. All this info was in my initial application which is why they asked. Any info you can give about what to write to show I am self-supporting even though I'm not working would be appreciated.

That is so ridiculous. Its very difficult to prove a negative… Its like asking me to show proof that there isnt a white whale in a pool of water buried under my home.
However, do you have a bank account in your name? I would think you could show bank statements or get some letters from family members stating that they have bEen supporting your basic needs and donot receive social assistance?

Social assistance isnt exactly Federal support. A lot of the programs full under provincial jurisdiction and can cover anything from health care to food… Thats why this is such a ridiculous request. There are so many programs, how can one (you) empirically prove that you are NOT on social assistance?? Ridiculous.
