Submitted application from Canada for my FIL last year in 2024 August or September can’t remember exact date.
Received biometric Sept 25th and he went for biometrics on 26th.
No updates after that. Application submitted under H&C ground. Thanks

To be fair it was once easier to get H&C approval so even your advice may no longer be as relevant. We are also seeing many face removal waiting for H&C application to be processed which rarely happened in the past. Immigration in Canada has changed dramatically in 3 years.
Got it but our scenario is legit. I believe waiting period is forever. It would be good if they look at application and make decision fast instead of putting applications into waitlist.
We are currently seeing a significant uptrend in volume of H and C applications, and drop in number of refugee claims. I think IRCC needs to be releastic in target immigration numbers, especially with 5 million people whose permits gonna expire in 2025.
The target numbers were in response to infrastructure issues, economic issues, social issues, etc. Not sure how you could justify increased targets at this moment and doubt there will be significant changes. Sadly previous government made some huge mistakes and some will suffer the consequences of their poor planning.
Why there haven’t been reforms already is mind boggling but hopefully they are coming soon since the H&C system is a huge mess. The big issue is H&C were meant for fairly rare and complex cases with a lot of evidence so they are both expensive and time consuming to process.
H and C is like refugee program is meant for people from war torn and unstabe countries who will face exeptional hardship if return to their home countries. Rightnow, target numbers are small, shrinking, and will not even accomodate genuine applications, unless IRCC likes issuing AIP without approval for second stage and people will adapt to living in Canada on work permits.
sadly many Ukrainian and unskilled people they are landing very quickly, even with concerns of not deserves most of them tho!
if not guaranteed then what is the point of give out lots of unnecessary AIP's and makes huge mess the system.
If that is the case, IRCC should stop accepting and inviting individuals from outside of Canada who know nothing about the Canadian culture. Prioritizing temporary residents who are established in Canada will not create any pressure on social services. As far as skills are concerned, they are many skilled professionals among temporary residents and refugees inside Canada who are ready to contribute to Canadian economy.
what is the status of your security assessment and criminality assessment after AIP, i guess you already requested for ATIP?
is possible stage 2 get refused based on inadmissibility grounds for financial reasons A39 applied to H&C requester ?
