I am confused on question on question 9c... I had gone to india once in 2015 for 2 month and for 11 days in 2016. Question 9c asks you if you have lived outside Canada during your eligibility period? If I check yes then it says to fill form citt0177 however when I open this form this is only for the government servants and armed forces people...can someone clarify please and thank you

Thank you so much for your quick response.. yes I did valid immi status and address in Canada . I mentioned this trip on residence calculator with reasoning
This has been addressed several times before. While you were in India, did you still have a valid legal immigration status AND a permanent residential address in Canada ? If you answer 'yes' to both questions, then you should tick 'NO' to question 9c because you were simply visiting India (i'm guessing vacation ?). Do mention this trip on your residence calculator along with reasoning.

Not quite sure I understand what the mistake is. Sounds to me you came to Canada for the first time on Sep 2013, and that's the period you accounted for in the calculator. What other info from your pre-PR days did you provide on the forms ?

Q10 a and Q11 where you need to provide info according to your eligibility period, that is 5 years from the date of your application, in my case my elig period is Oct 12, 2012 - Oct 12, 2017. I answered Q10a & 11 and provided my info 2012 - 2017, but on residency calculator I declared date of absence from Sept 2013 to June 2014, looks like I should have also declared Oct 12, 2012 - Sep 12 - Non Resident also ( which is pre-PR period)

some new questions were so confusing, still don't know if we answered right
the eligibility period started oct 2012 but landed as pr and first time in canada in jul 2013; still under the new question (lived outside canada during eleigibility period) answered no, then changed to yes and mentioned the previous country we lived; but didn't fill in that extra form because it did not apply to us; then i wrote in pen next to the question "didn't live outside canada since become PR"; hope they understand and dom't return for something stupid

For question 11 in the application, for my current job, is it OK if I type "2017-10" in the application file and after printing write the word "PRESENT" bellow the date by Pen?
Because there is no place for the day, I am worried if CIC thinks there is a gap!

You can type till present or till date if you want. Writing 2017/10 too is valid simce you are submitting this month

Q13 Forgot to mention a study permit . Always thought they asking for other citizenship or pr equivalent until I saw today some posts

Just curious .. those who applied on Oct 11th itself .. how did you manage that ..?
From what I could see, there were application form printing issues, checklist has to be updated, new calc not accessible issues, etc .. so how did you guys send your apps out same day ..?

Impatience lol. Someone screenshot the page printed and sent. Some were able to get through by noon they fixed most of it. The physical prescence took a while to get so as payment receipts. but a lot had lots of errors too. Thats why this page was created. I am yet to submit

Wow .. what a roller coaster ride .. didn't it make them nervous to send out an app even though they got the printouts, etc in such a painful way ..lol ?
What was the rush i wonder .. especially for such an important milestone in our lives .. you'd think they'd wait and make sure .. just a question of few days to get some peace of mind ..
i'm still waiting a bit too .. will apply when the clouds clear ..

Just remembered a book i read from the West African writer, Chinua Achebe ..
He said there is a saying in Nigeria back in the day .. from 3 people walking in the bush at night .. the middle one is safest .. because the first one faces the ghosts, and last one has bent legs from running ..lol .. so don't file too early and don't file too late!

You've answered that wrong as they are only interested in those who lived outside of Canada during the eligibility period - which you have said you didn't. It sounds like you've been clear however so I wouldn't expect your application to be returned.

You don't need to write the word present. If you do 2017-10 and your applying in October they will get it. If they were being precise they would have asked for the day also.

You weren't supposed to mention this visa so you're fine.

1) Calc was actually working the day before.
2) Most filled out the form as soon as it was available and used the time it couldn't be printed to check it.
3) When it was available to print people re-filled the form or copied and pasted from the old one.

I think it really just depended on how much time someone had on that particular day to navigate what was happening.

Some yes and some no. Some people made ill-advised decisions, others didn't. I'm pretty confident my application is fine & I have a complete copy which I've looked over several times.

"Things Fall Apart" by Chinua Achebe was a very enjoyable book!
