unfortunately you have to really comply with what they require. or else it'll still be you who would have the delays if ever you won't be complying with the required documents... i know its a hassle to have to get again nbi clearance. but mind you. it would be more hassle and more frustrating to have to wait and only to find out they would require you to get another nbi clearance not less than 3 months ago...

Wow. Good thing I've read this post. Now I know I shouldn't get too excited to get my NBI clearance. Guys, how about the FBI clearance? Should I get my FBI clearance now even if they're not yet asking for it? BTW I'm applying under QSW and not FSW but I just thought It'll save me some precious months if I'll try to get my FBI clearance now than later. After I acquire my CSQ (hopefully) and I'll submit my application to the Canadian embassy :) Cheers!

To SoloKru......

if you stay in US more than 6mos you have to get FBI clearance and it will be included in your full docs. I applied my fbi as early as submitting my initial application to CIO and it took me 10wks to received my refusal of fingerprints card so I just got a state police clearance to meet my deadline in submitting to my VO but I still keep on submitting my new set of fingerprints card. In my 3rd attempt finally it was accepted (since my fngerprints card made by machine fr a police station i paid $10 for it) that was in august.... but I have to pay $18 again for d 3rd attempt. I thought my state police clearance was enough but the VO together with d medical request still ask for my FBI report and thats made me call d FBI to follow up for the report since I already made d pyt & sent them last Aug. Hopefully i will be able to get it in 2wks time to meet my 60 days deadline.

SO my advise... apply for FBI as early as now & make your fingerprints card do by a professional or any state police station..dont do it by yourselves it might be rejected and just a waste of time.

Yeah that's what I thought. I'd apply for my FBI clearance after I lodge my CSQ application. Thanks for the tip!

Mga Sir and mam,

Ask ko lang po kung ilan ang points ko, confused po kc ako sa pagbigay ng points ko. Ilan po ba ung point pag Graduate ng civil engineering? kc sa pinas 5 years ang engineering so equivalent sya sa 15 years fulltime study.

Karen,
Sad to say but it's true. In my case, I was so excited then to secure our NBI clearances, which were almost 5 months old at the time i was about to send our full docs to VO. So I had to request again to meet the 3 month-validity requirement, so as not to give the visa officer any reason to return, request additional documents or question anything in my docs. Hirap pa nga in our case, kasi si hubby ang daming kapangalan na may mga court cases, so I had to secure court clearances all over again...for the 2nd time around. :(

im kinda confused na nga kase some other seniors here told me na i am safe with my nbi since i am with the old rules pa... It was stated there na 3 months old upon submission to CIO. But i am afraid baka bumalik sa akin ang application ko... Sa new rules kase 3 months na sa visa office. Thanks sa info :)
