FYI : fellow nurses like me who want to apply to CNO, nkakasad po pero ngincrease na ang credentials evaluation fee from 171cad to 678. below is taken from the applcation forms sent to me by cno. plano ko pa nmn sana asikasuhin na before umalis kya lng kulang na sa budget.

Payment Section
To begin processing your application you are required to pay an assessment fee. The fees are in Canadian funds
and include all taxes. Please note that these fees are in effect as of June 2nd, 2010 and may change in the future.
The assessment fee for International graduate applying as a Registered Nurse is $600.00 (+ HST) = $678.00. The
assessment fee for International graduate applying as a Registered Practical Nurse is $200.00 (+ HST) = $226.00.

@maria cecilia primero: pwedeng mag apply na maging registered nurse in canada even though hindi ka pa immigrant? kala ko once you get to canada you need to study first then tyaka mag apply sa CNA? :o

first kc credentials evaluation muna (sa province, like in my case sa ontario kame so sa college of nurses ontario ako)then from there malalaman mo kung ano yung assessment nila if you need to go back to school or crne na lng. i have a schoolmate sa saskatchewan cya and credentials evaluation na lng then crne, no schooling.but usually kapag sa cno ngaaral ulit. i hope this helps!

@koji518,

nakakalungkot nga eh kc ang plan ko sana apply ako pag my visa na. but it seems sa price nya ngaun pag andun na lng kme kc hndi na tlga kya ng budget...i've read dito sa forum na mtagal talga, meron nga daw 8 months...good luck and i hope maging colleagues din tau doon...

Hi bong,

what i did was, I searched in the internet for ads on used cars with the same model as our car. then i printed the ad (mas mabuti if may picture din yung ad nila). I also took the picture of our car. the selling price of the used car dealer was the value i disclosed in my POF, attaching the picture I took and the ad. I just don't know if it was ok coz my docs are still pending review with the visa officer.

helo there!

i applied in january 2008 under the simplified application process (SAP) and received a letter december 2009 informing me that i still have to wait 2-3 years more b4 they decide on my application. since i have an experience in one of the 38 professions in the ministerial instructions (which means if i file a new application it would be prioritized), they gave me an option to withdraw by replying, else they would presume i am still interested in my application under the SAP, i.e, wait for 2-3 years more.

in my excitement, i withdrew my old application and filed a new one in the CIO.

in your case, since there is a new list of in-demand professions effective june 26, 2010, i suggest you verify first whether you have an experience in one of those. otherwise, don't withdraw your application.

good luck!

I am into the IT profession and it's not part of the new list, though my current role/function is of a supervisor which is in the new list. It just bothers me that it's more than 5 years of waiting.

I guess, i'll just update my records specially with me entering Canada (on a tourist visa) three times.

Thanks for the insight. Appreciate it :-)

hi guys,

got my visa yesterday. thanks to all......

realizations....

1. for proof of funds, u can widraw some amounts na sobra sa required proof of funds
2. the embassy may call the banks but bank people can only give info up until the date stated in the bank cert or bank statement.
3. for medicals, just as long as your able to work, not a threat to canada, pwede pwede parin
4. sa coe ng spouse( not principal), kahit contract lang pwede.just have an affidavit

these are the things that bothered me during the application process. I had 5 long stressfull nights

To my friendships hailo and tabs...thank you so much

To my katimelines kyle, maharlika and bubbles, more patience...dadadating din yan...
