I think the new government has changed a lot of rules and procedures. Hopefully non-routine applications are of a thing of the past. In Australia it takes less than 85 calendar days to process and grant/refuse a citizenship application. Canada should and can do better.
Well they are getting there.

Couple of applications <100 days total processing time from app arrived to oath.

Took my test today at Surrey, BC and got 20/20. My 14 yo daughter got 19/20 and the officer told to expect oath in 3 months time. Because of non-disclosure, cannot give the process and procedure.
For the test, it IS important to read the book a few times and should not just rely on the common practice tests available online.
All the best to rest of those preparing for tests.

Hi,

I have a question if someone can please help with.

During the interview (after passing the test), if the officer did not mention sending you CIT 0520 or CIT 171 (RQ), does this mean that you will not receive one?
Is it going to be a straightforward case? especially if he said that you are going to have your Oath invitation letter within 2-4 months?

Thanks,

In my case, he stamped it and approved me right there. Didn't say anything about sending me anything but an invitation to the oath ceremony. But you never know. If you didn't get approved on that day then maybe they need additional info. Maybe not.

Myself and my wife are on the same case, and my interview was first, so he couldn't stamp approved until he interviewed my wife. She said she thought he stamped something but wasn't sure.

Since our ECAS is screwed and won't update we're not going to know anything until the oath invite letter arrives. Just hoping it doesn't get lost in the mail ......

I think it would be more sensible to send them out by email if the applicant supplied an email address.

Hi Guys, i need some guidance please

I received my AOR on June 15th. My ECAS status is still "Application Received" and has not changed to "in Process" as yet.
on the ECAS i see that the mailing address has got a Abu Dhabi mailing address that i used to use 5 years back when i was applying for PR. i am surprised they picked up that address. On the Citizenship application form, i left the mailing address fields empty as it said "if different from home address"

last Friday i updated the mailing address on line and it said it would take 15 days to update. My concern is in the mean time, if they were to snail mail my test invite, it would go to the Abu DHabi address, and i have no way of contacting that address anymore

Any suggestions / guidance would be highly appreciated.

P.S. I know this is Feb Forum and i am a May applicant but the question is of general nature and there seem to more active members here than the May group

I'm assuming that you got your AOR by email. After AOR, it can take 1-2 weeks to change to "In-Process" and a test invite might not happen till end of July or August in your case as Surrey local office is a busy center. I'm also from Surrey and has my eCAS updated immediately when I got the test invite by Canada Post. But there are still applicants in Surrey whose eCAS is yet to update after "in-Process" even though they had got test invites.
You can wait for 1-2 weeks before checking with CIC call center if the address is updated. Chances are, it might be a bug in their system in showing your PR application mailing address and the actual file will be having the correct address itself.
All the best to your rest of processing.

That overseas address will probably cause your file to be flagged. Change it quick. Call them.

I had my eCAS changed to "Decision Made" today and approximately in a week after the test in Surrey, BC office. However,my daughter (family application) who also wrote the test still shows "In Process". I hope there wont be any problems. I short, happy and a bit tensed at the same time.
:D ::)
