Any February 2016 applicants got their AOR yet?

Recent AORs have been going out between 3 and 11 days after the applications have been sent.

I noticed on the spreadsheet, late January and early Feb applicants haven't had AOR and sitting at 11 to 19 days since application received. Perhaps the Family Day holiday last Monday slowed things down a little - but hoping the AORs start coming again soon.

Not that there's a desperate rush for our application but it's not to get the AOR so you definitely know the application was correctly delivered to the right place (my trust in couriers goes only so far!) :)

Don't stress and depress your self by looking at those fake timelines on the spreadsheet. Some are real some are not. Most them are from people who never even applied for citizenship. They join the forum and spreadsheet for fun. 2 day AOR is just not possible. The real average is between 10-18 days.

And the wording of the PDF attachment -

Subject: APPLICATION FOR CANADIAN CITIZENSHIP

This is to acknowledge receipt of your application for Canadian Citizenship. Citizenship and Immigration Canada

(CIC) will review your application and supporting documents and will contact you if additional information is required. When your application has been reviewed and has met basic eligibility, CIC will invite you to a knowledge test, interview and/or ceremony, as applicable.

To become a Canadian citizen, persons between 14 and 64 years of age must meet language and knowledge requirements:

• Ability to carry on a simple conversation in either English or French.

• Ability to pass a written or oral test on Canada’s history, geography, government, and the rights and responsibilities of citizenship.

Questions testing the knowledge requirement are based on the information provided in the Discover Canada study guide.

• If you are receiving this letter by email, the study guide is available on the CIC website at

www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/publications/discover/index.asp.

• If you are receiving this letter by regular mail, the study guide is enclosed.

The pass mark for the citizenship knowledge test is 75% (or at least 15 correct answers out of 20), therefore you are encouraged to begin studying for the test as early as possible to ensure that you are able to meet the knowledge requirement and to assist in the efficient processing of your application.

Please visit our website at for more information on how to prepare for the test.

It is very important that you notify CIC of any changes in your contact information (i.e., address, email, and telephone number). Please visit our website at for information on:

1. How to change your contact information;

2. Application processing times;

3. Checking the status of your application.

You may also call the CIC Call Centre toll-free number at 1-888-242-2100.

Thank you,

One question though for those already received an AOR. We have a "family" application (individual applications but my wife and I both applied in the same envelope), I got the AOR but my wife didn't get anything.

Is that usual that they only send it to the first application in the package?

Nevermind - my wife just got her email too. Guess they must have popped for a coffee break in between sending the two emails :)

If you have provided the email ID, CIC is sending AOR as well "Discover Canada" by email. Quite possibly, if someone who did NOT provide the email ID might be receiving by snail mail.

How soon did you get your new AOR? And what stage are you at now?

Guys, we sent our application few days back and it reached NS on Feb.18th. we (my husband and I) literally missed to write the photo specifications they asked to write in the back. Have you guys heard of this kind of a case? We are thinking of giving them a call tomorrow morning and ask. which number can we contact them?
