thank you stanlee.....

so is it possible to get a job offer while in the pool and through the job bank. The reason i am enquiring is that, I am a specialist dentist and have 2 yrs work experience, but i cant get a job unless i clear my licensing exam n stuff which is currently not possible. but my wife is a clinical psychologist with 1 yr work exp and in the job bank i found around 2000 vacancies. so the confusion is if she doesnt have the benefit of getting a job offer thru the job bank and the 600 CRS points which comes with it, then wouldnt it be better if i am the primar, having an advantage of the 2 yr exp. hope you understood my doubt. please advise.

Hello,

I'm still experiencing technical problem with job bank. I can't create an account with job match service. I got the alert message after putting in EE Profile number and job seeker validation code. Can you please let me know how you did it? What message did you get? Thank you!

Hi,

Thanks for the update. I wonder how long you wait to receive the confirmation code? I re-register right after I saw your post around 8:30 and now I am still waiting.....

Hello,
I am married and plan to apply for EE. What i am confussed at the moment is should I apply for IELTS/ECA for my wife too, is it mandatory?

How to go about choosing the options in EE profile to get more points. It seems the CRS points with/witout spouse are a little dfferent.

Hi Everyone,
How to update express entry profile after getting new IELTS result or new information? I tried through My CIC account but it says Processing update but no response after that. I am guessing it's the technical issue. Does anyone has the same experience? Please advice. Thanks.

Hello everyone,

I have a question regarding my express entry profile. I just submitted my profile but it says that I am ineligible. I don't know why. I completed my masters last year and have more than 2 years of work experience. Also, my IELTS score is over 7 in each category. I have not yet entered myself into the job bank though. Can this be a reason for my ineligibility?

Thanks!

Yes, if you have work experience in an NOC under skill type 0, A or B in the last 10 years, you can submit your Express Entry profile.

No, any gaps in employment does not make a difference as long as you meet the minimum requirement mentioned here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp

Regarding job prospects, I hope the following facts will clarify your doubts

Greater Toronto Area (GTA) is Canada's financial services capital and headquarters for:
- Canada's four largest banks, which are among the world's 50 largest banks by market capitalization
- 80% of the foreign banks operating in Canada
- more than half of the world's top 10 banks by market capitalization
- two of the three largest Canadian insurers
- two of the top 20 global pension funds
- six of the 10 largest Canadian asset managers
- the world's second largest chartered financial analyst (CFA) society
- the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX), which leads globally in the number of total new listings and total mining listings, and ranks seventh in the world by market capitalization

Hi guys,

I have banking experience in 2 different NOCs? How do I input the same and do I need to take reference letters from both organisations or any one will suffice?

Also, my responsibilities are not matching perfectly with the NOC. How much should match? Should wordings match or is it the gist or the spirit of the job profile?

Thanks in advance

If you are claiming points for both the positions that you held under different NOCs, then you will have to submit reference letters for both.

Your duties and responsibilities need not match word by word as mentioned under the NOC. At least if it is close to 70% of your existing role, you are good to go.

Hello,

May I ask a question for the expert in Express Entry here?

One of the way to improve score in CSR for EE profile is by improving relevant work experience. Could someone please help me to understand this clearer? Say if I earned an engineering degree with NOC 2148, do I have to work in jobs related to my field of engineering (specifically 2148) in order to claim points for EE? Do any other jobs count? Say if I have couple extra months in teaching, will that count toward my cumulative relevant work experience and improve my score in CSR?

Understanding this requirement will really help me to set my career goals in the future. I really appreciate it if someone could help me answer this question. Thank you very much in advance!

The best way to improve your CRS score is by getting good scores in IELTS, at least CLB 9 (LRWS 8777). IELTS has a major impact on your CRS csore.

For Express Entry it does not matter whether your education and experience are related or not. What matters is you meet the requirement stated here http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/immigrate/skilled/apply-who.asp.

Yes, when you apply for a job, based on the job requirement, then, it may or may not matter whether you have a related work experience.

I meet the minimum requirement for ONE of my work experience. But do other work experience that is not related to my qualified work experience (or degree) count for points in CRS even though they are not full time and not up to a year? Can they be add on when I count my working experience time? It would be really helpful since increasing working experience time will increase points in CRS.

Yes, you can use it for cumulative work experience calculation, and if you are claiming points for it, you will need to submit documents related to that experience.
