Hi everyone,

I've yet to receive a response to this question, so hopefully someone here will have an idea.

I received a document request April 21st and scanned and sent the document (requested me to reply directly to the e-mail) with my UCI and File no. I received the automated reply.

My question is - can I expect to receive a confirmation that they received my passport scan? Or should I just assume they've received it and are able to find it? I've heard that some VOs do send a confirmation message, but I'm not sure if this is the case for Ottawa.

Is there any way I can confirm they received it? I don't want them to email me back in 45 days saying I failed to provide the documents and they rejected my case or something. That would be just my luck.

I hope so! I have been checking ECAS likes crazy woman lol I am trying to keep busy and not think about it too much but it is easier said than done for sure. I also wish I would hear something from Ottawa. The silence is making me paranoid that they like somehow lost my email address or something lol but I have gotten my SA and AOR to my email so it can't be possible. My birthday is coming up, maybe CIC is just waiting to give me an awesome birthday present

My hubby bday is coming up in June and I told him it would be the best birthday present if he get his visa to come home for his bday lol. He has been waiting for over 4 years now.

Hello everyone!

So for those who are curious I recieved our GCMS notes today! As suspected, it seems to be waiting for the FBI check and Chinese police check that has delayed our application. I ordered notes on April 11, and they were generated on April 12. Our latest "notes" update (from March 9) states that "Application approved once pol certs recieved"...!! I can't tell you how relieved I was to read that!

It also stated that a request for documents (asking for the two extra police clearance checks) was generated on March 9 (then updated on March 24) however we never recieved that email. Ever. We did send extra documents ourselves via email on April 22 about the police checks so hopefully it was recieved alright. My partner's actual FBI check should be here any day now and we will send that to Ottawa ASAP. I am thinking I wiill email them to tell them we saw in the notes they were going to request documents in March, we never got the email, and this is to confirm our email address.

The thing is, we tried and tried and tried to get his Chinese police check but not one reputable company responded to us, Ottawa never responded to my email asking them for help, the Chinese embassy here in Japan refused to help...we did send in proof of our efforts as well as a copy of his Chinese visa from that time, his passport, proof of residence etc. via email. Once his FBI check arrives we mail hard copies of these proofs with it. Hopefully Ottawa has procedures set in place for this kind of thing since I know we aren't the only ones in this situation!

Anyways to anyone still waiting I highly recommend getting your notes! It provides you with so much information! I waited approximately three months after getting SA to order my notes and it was the best decision ever. 10/10, do recommend!

I just received my AOR2 from CPC-Ottawa via an email requesting more documents yesterday. I sent off the files this morning and received the automated message.. Now I guess I get to wait here with you guys! ;D

Congrats!! All you did was just send a reply directly to their email right? With the files attached. Cause I'm in the same situation and I would like some peace of mind knowing they actually received the documents.

Yes, I actually replied twice because I forgot something in the first one lol. They never sent confirmation (except for the automated e-mail), but it was only a week between submitting that and DM.

My passport in the original submission was set to expire in six months and I explained in a letter that I was going to renew it. They asked for an updated copy the other day. Hope I see a DM soon too! Congrats to you!

I'm curious - is it normal for Ottawa to send doc request as soon as they receive the file?
Waiting for my FBI clearance and just wondering if that means they're ready to process?

We all have two UCI numbers, one for the sponsor and one for the sponsored person and yes yours will be the same old, they have you filled already and you will have the same UCI for your whole life if you need to apply again for anything. With the sponsors UCI number you can see both status, as the sponsor is responsible for you for the next years, and you give him permission to your info. When using your UCI, sponsored person, you can only see your status! It's the same for everyone. Bare in mind that CIC doesn't update ecas very often. For example I'm landed already and my partner got approved as my sponsored since November, but it still shows under process on his status Probably they will never update your sponsor's status to decision made or approved... but you know that your application is being processed as you are under ' in process'. You will also see that they will add a line when they check your medicals... 'medicals received...'. My status changed very little. It only updated to medicals received and two - three months later from in process it simply went to decision made

Thanks! Got my CoPR in the mail yesterday 30 april, woohoo! Very quick all together. We sent our application in on 10 february 2016 and received decision made on 20 april 2016 > 2 months and 10 days!!! Superhappy, go CIC! However on my copr they filed wrong country of residence > i never lived in Germany..Strange. I wonder if thats going to cause any problems.. I sent a case specific email, hoping to clarify before I land. Want to wish everyone good luck and a superspeedy procedure like ours!
