Hooray! My ECAS status changed from "Application Received" to "In Process"!

The details state they started processing it on December 6th. Not sure what this means in terms of waiting time from here on in, but I'm THRILLED to see some movement!

Could someone please update the spreadsheet to reflect the change in my ECAS status? Thanks!

Congratulations timelady! Looks like things are beginning to move again. :) ;D

Yes it did shortly after we got In Process which was Oct 15th. I think we saw it on there on Oct 18th. You will be soon

Our ECAS has never changed since application received. Sigh. Ok, you've been updated :)

In process means that an officer actually reviewed your file. You will receive a request for something from the office: evidence the RPRF has been paid, the passport (copies usually), an RCMP fingerprint based report, etc. Ideally, it would be the PPR, because that means you're all but finished.

Question - What does it mean that they started processing on December 6th? If they already sent you PPR in Oct, doesn't this mean that they started the process back in October?

That is a good question, and I don't know. If, as computergeek stated above, "In Process" means they'll be asking for something, maybe they need something else from me? (Gosh I hope not! That would likely mean they lost something we already sent.) Perhaps they're just very late in changing the ECAS status? *crossing fingers*

Thanks for clarifying. We applied on April 5, 2013. Unfortunately have not received a Passport request yet. GCMS notes look good, but it seems that they just havent started our Security/Criminal piece. So wasn't sure how the "In Process" ties to the Passport Request.

Btw, did you send them a copy of your passport, or the actual passport itself?

Neither has ours..we still say application received and we got PPR Aug 12th...husband had to redo medicals and they got them Oct 28th...and we are still waiting...I ordered gcms notes again last week to see if it tells us anything...hoping it was a waste of $5.00..lol

If they want the actual passport they will request it. If only a copy is needed, they will request a copy and tell you which pages they want. Someone from a Visa Exempt country like the US only needs to send a copy of picture page and various pages that have been stamped for entry and exist. They will tell u what to send.

I have noticed that the time period between PPR and receipt of COPR is steadily increasing as time passes for those of us who are being processed at CPP-OTTAWA and now they are posting the processing time as 15 months.

ours was longer than most because we forgot to submit immigration photos with our application. They didn't notice or request until after our PPR .
