I know this might be a newbie Question ... but How do we know an interview is 'Waived' or not and how long after we know does the process usually take ? To be honest I'm a little unclear on how exactly the process goes from this point on. We have sponsorship approval and confirmed medical results and I know we wait .. but what should we expect to happen next ?

For us, when they requested CPR by email they said that an interview was waived, however they also noted that they could still require an interview sometime in the future before issuing COPR if they felt it was necessary.

Thanks for clarifying. We applied on April 5, 2013. Unfortunately have not received a Passport request yet. GCMS notes look good, but it seems that they just havent started our Security/Criminal piece. So wasn't sure how the "In Process" ties to the Passport Request.

Btw, did you send them a copy of your passport, or the actual passport itself?

Canuckluvus is correct, as I'm in the US, they only needed a copy of the photo page of my passport. I scanned it and emailed it within about an hour of receiving the email! :) Now I'm just waiting for In Process to change to Decision Made. (Or for them to request I send something else.)

My Canadian husband did contact his MP's office and had them check the status for us. They didn't tell us anything new, but here it is in case anyone's curious:
Code:
- Sponsor was approved May 24/13.

- Medicals are complete and still valid until March 24/14.

- File is currently in “review by officer”, since October 17/13.

- No notes on file since October 17/13.

- File is currently in Case Processing Pilot (CPP) in Ottawa.

- Currently, it is a 15-month published process time (80% of cases).

- 15-month time from March 24/13 = August 24/14.

Though it is interesting to note the file has been in "review by officer" since October 17, but the status didn't change to In Process until December 6.

Thanks everyone !! :)

HI everyone, sorry I haven't been around much but life has been crazy lately trying to get settled in and on top of that there is Christmas planning as well. I have updated everyone who asked me to do so. Those of you who are here on a daily basis and see people needing updated, could you tell them to PM me with their details? I don't always get email telling me a post has happened on this thread but I do get emails for the PM's.

Canuckluvus- CONGRATS ON LANDING THIS WEEKEND!!!! Good luck with your new life here in Canada! :)

timelady- Congrats on your In Process!! You will be getting that DM very soon.

And for everyone else still waiting, best of luck for a speedy process. You will all be joining your loved ones here in Canada very soon!! :)

So far this week seems like another quiet week of inactivity for those of us who received PPR since September. I wonder what CPP-O have done with our files. Seems like we have been put on the shelf until 2014.
If anyone has had any news please let us know. Thanks

I look here every day to see if anyone else got anything....some days I'm so discouraged.

Me too. I emailed Ottawa two weeks ago and they said my app was still in queue to process. I replied and asked how far back it was and they stated it will be about 2 - 3 more months until it's reviewed mainly because of the holidays. It sucks, but the bright side is my application is closer to getting approved now than it was a year ago now when I was starting to gather all the initial documents and initiating this mind numbing process. lol

Just have to keep finding that silver lining. Remind yourself the ball is in fact rolling and you're closer to it being done than you were yesterday. :D

Our timelines are pretty similar, so I guess I am looking at 2-3 more months before I hear anything as well. That's pretty much what I expected, though I keep hoping that by some miracle it will happen sooner!

I am going home to Edmonton for Christmas, leaving on Saturday, and am very excited to see my family again. I wish my husband could come with me, but his work schedule simply won't allow it. But I will stock up on hugs from my daughter, mom and sisters while I am home and hopefully they will last me until I can get there permanently.

I check the forum on a daily basis for any updates but it's been really quiet since October. It's so nerve wracking....!!

Yea Seems like only Canuckluvus has had any success in recent months. It's really disappointing that they didn't give us much service since the Oct.

One step closer, our ECAS changed to "in process" today...don't want to get too excited because this step may take another 2 months

Oh good. At least it's something and a confirmation that someone at the VO has been dealing with your application. Should not be too much longer now. Happy holidays.
