And computergeek I had no idea I could have had insurance this whole time :o My wifes insurance goes through her employer so I'm not sure they would still allow it.

They can pay the MSP premiums for her (it's a taxable benefit) but they don't have the ability to allow/disallow her dependents - that's standard MSP group admin stuff at that point.

Note that you should add yourself to hers anyway, since it's cheaper for a couple than it is two individuals ($66.50 for an individual, $120.50 for a family of 2, $133 for a family of 3+). Her employer may withhold it from pay - but you still have to pay it anyway.

I did the same and it came to Canada so don't worry. I know it really really sucks seeing that decision made and not knowing what the decision is but trust me, as long as you had nothing to hide and are a legit couple, you will be fine. I'm glad that I didn't see that my ecas had updated until a day before I got the COPR, it saved me from a week of terror haha

Get ready to celebrate! =D

You mention that it took a week before receiving the COPR after you saw decision made. Where do you live? I'm just trying to figure out how long it will take for me to receive it. I live in Winchester, Ontario which is 45 minutes south of Ottawa...... I cant wait :)

Yes I will be getting added to hers but I need to get my carecard first and then she needs to play phone tag with a bunch of people to get me added to hers. She shouldn't have to pay anything because the company does over dependents. We'll see.

I live all the way in Vancouver, BC. But computergeek says they take 3 days to print the COPR after it changes to decision made. It shouldn't take a week to get to you if you're that close. They should just let you come pick it up yourself and land while you're at it lol :P

Great. thanks. My common-law husband is coming to spend a couple of weeks with me starting tomorrow. I would really like to know what he can expect when he gets to the border. He is driving from the US. I called the 1-888 # for immigration and they told me that they do not have access to the information..... Well... hopefully he will get good news tomorrow at the border.... I also e-mailed cpp-0 but no response yet.

From experience all Ottawa will tell you when/if they reply is that they sent you a letter on X date concerning the decision and that you have to wait for that. =\ Really not helpful at all.

And yes the call center doesn't have access to files processed outland even though Ottawa is in Canada, it's just dumb. I would have to guess they won't give him problems at the border since they should be able to see that he has been approved. And then hopefully you'll get the COPR while he is visiting and you'll be able to land at the border!

I'm guessing they do that to protect agents from someone going ballistic if they're rejected.

The store I used to work at did something like that. If a check was denied for insufficient funds, it printed a code - however, we were always made to say we "didn't know" why the check declined - it prevented the employee from getting into 'that' argument with the customer. In fact, the cashiers were never trained to learn the codes. I only knew them apart because I wrote them down in my booklet. If I ever encountered a "stolen" code, I wanted to play hero :P

Plus, if Ottawa updates the Call Centre half as good as they update Ecas, the agents won't know we're approved or not until we're eligible for citizenship ;)

I got delivery confirmation that it arrived February 21. I sent it February 20th. :) Thanks for the add!!

So, just curious... when the PPR is sent via email, what email address is it sent from? Our AOR and SA were sent from client-update-mise-a-jour @ cic.gc.ca and from CPCM-EXTCOM @ cic.gc.com (respectively), so I am assuming the domain that Ottawa sends from is also @ cic.gc.com, but it would be nice if someone who has received their PPR can share what the full address is. My husband would like to make sure the address is added to his email "safe list", so any email from Ottawa will not accidentally be sent to junk mail.

Many thanks!

You could probably walk to Ottawa to pick it up faster than it will take by snail mail....lol :)

No problem! You're all set up now =) I just needed the date it was sent so that the spreadsheet would calculate the correct # of days since app received.
