Ah, you're in my area of the world (I live downtown).

This is a maddening process - seriously, it impairs one's ability to think clearly about almost anything, at least in my experience.

In my experience, e-cas goes to DM about 3 days after they print the COPR, so if that is the case they would have printed it last Friday or perhaps Monday and mailed it the following day (so Monday or Tuesday). Coming from Ottawa, that would take about a week, so I'd keep my eye out for something to arrive next week.
Oh cool! We live in East Van, I like it a lot here so far. =)

You must have spent a lot of time around these parts in order to know that info so well, and your post count confirms that haha I'm keeping my fingers crossed that they just sent the COPR but I'm totally weirded out if that's what it is, and I also feel bad for everyone who has that extra PPR step.

I'm kind of intrigued by this option - it would be quite sensible if your passport isn't expiring any time soon. My wife and kids' passports all have several years left, so I'd be quite happy to skip PPR and go straight to getting COPR in the mail. I hope this is what happened!
Mine doesn't expire until 2020 and they still asked for mine.

I am curious to know how many male applicants get passport requests. Do you think they just want to make sure that female spouses haven't changed their names (because names have to match)?
All this time I thought Shylox was a lady, lol but he's a gentleman, there are fewer possibilities for males to change their names or last names. :)

Despite its many procedural flaws, Canada's immigration policy welcomes all kinds of families. Go, Canada!
Psh, if that was true, I could claim my cat as a dependant. She's the child in our family.

I thought cats were heads of households, not dependents.

My husband keeps telling me Canada is one of the best places to live in and I always tell him "Uhhh really?" But I will live anywhere as long as I have my husband with me. The US has given me so many opportunities and I've been able to grow professionally. Now I can't say the same about our taxes , I'll be back here in a couple of years and probably the US goverment and the tax system will be a pest I can't rid of. I'll be wearing a big maple leaf t-shirt :p

We received a follow up email today from CPP-O requesting a set of original fingerprints from the RCMP as well as the copy of the passport. We have a problem since we are in Florida and obviously can't get to an office in Canada that does the fingerprints. Any suggestions on how to get this done would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks all.

Here you go:

http://www.rcmp-grc.gc.ca/cr-cj/fing-empr2-eng.htm

"If you are OUTSIDE OF CANADA :

contact the nearest police force which offers fingerprinting services. The RCMP will accept fingerprint forms from foreign countries that contain the following:

rolled and flat impressions of all ten fingers taken with black ink
full name, date of birth and sex of the applicant
the name and address of the police agency
the signature of the official taking the fingerprints"
