You can always make an appointment to land or go to a border crossing if you want to get your landing papers but don't have the money to fly home and back right away. Just trying to help with some suggestions. I hope it all works out for you. I understand how stressful this all is.

My husband's work contract ends Sept 2015 and he goes part time then. Unless of course he finds another job. We were praying for all this to be over way before then but with Ottawa losing our papers it looks like we are in for a long long long wait.

I will pray your DM comes quick! .. Best of luck .
I wish we could do it that way! We're quite close to New York and Vermont so flagpoling wouldn't be hard. But I still have quite a few belongings in the state and so in order to fill out the b4 to follow form, I have to go take inventory. I haven't seen some of that stuff in years bc it's been stored away. So that's why I have to fly back :/ it's the only way we could think of.
The bright side is I'll get to meet my niece for the first time! She just turned one!

Not everyone has survived the process. I have heard of couples where the stress was just too much. I'm very happy that the outcome was positive and sometimes I can't really believe it happened after so long.

If something had happened wrong I'm not sure what I would have done. I can't live without him. Well, I suppose I could live, but I would be miserable. We actually haven't been apart a single night in more than 5 years now.
I know how you feel. My husband and I are each other's best friends :) we have stuff to work on. We're young to be married. I've been in relationships, he hadn't really before me. And it's our first time living with a significant other. It's tough but we want to make it through!

Yeah I forget about all the stuff back in NY. Since it looks like we might be in for another long wait I am going to fly down, inventory and bring back a B4 with me. So eventually if we do get DM I can be ready to flagpole! ...

Meeting your niece sounds like a great reward though!.. I hope this all ends for you soon. Since they just asked for your CSQ I have a strong feeling you will be DM soon :) Good luck!

Hi,

We got a weird email today. CIC and the Singapore VO has requested my wife send her passport for a permanent residence visa.

The problem: She's American, and hence from a visa-exempt country.

We are currently residing in Vietnam but she is an American Citizen with an American passport. We have had DM (April 25th) and we were expecting COPR letter....

We have already email back the VO asking what's happening? Any ideas? I will be calling the call center the next time the time-zones line up.

Just when you think you are in the clear....

Yeah you're lucky you're pretty close to where your stuff is being stored too!

Think so? I wasn't sure if that was a good sign or not. Bc they said sometimes VOs don't ask for the CSQ bc MICC might send them one... little confused about that..

Ottawa seems to be A$$ backwards. They probably didn't record it in the system as received so asked you for it. At least that is what my husband and I think happened to our stuff. They probably open up the system, see that the application is not complete, send out a request and put the application aside with out even bothering to see if the stuff is in there.

They gave you 45 days right? I think at the end of the 45 days they will look at your application again and see that the CSQ is there and you will get DM. This is worse case scenario of course. For all we know they look at it as soon as its received.

I have tried to contact Ottawa via email 4 times and I even sent them an explanation letter with copies of the original they lost. I told them I need an extension on the time they gave me because it isnt enough due to the FBI's back log. I haven't heard one beep form them.

I just checked my email a few minutes ago and there was a mail from CIC and also the same email was sent to my wife's email too. Kind of worried as they already have the change of mailing address for my wife and it shows as changed when we log in. As far as her country of residence that one seems odd as they should already know that, but we replied to it as Canada as a visitor with the same address as her mailing address. Here's the mail that came from CIC, and it also included her own personal UCI number so now we both have them:

Reply directly to the e-mail with the address. That way the sender will have it and can include it in the system they are looking at =)

Yes that's what we did right away. We just hit reply as it stated in the Note at the bottom of the mail. Here's hoping!

I would be devastated if that were the case. Especially since we were on top of it and sent it the same day asked for it and they received it in Ottawa the next afternoon.

Although I remember from months and months ago, before I was worrying about missing documents being a problem, people saying they just wait the whole 45 days whether you send it right away or not.

Good that you've heard something!!!
I hope they didn't forgot me?!

Pfff

Saw this on Facebook making the rounds today.

It's CIC's training manual/handout on spotting fake marriages, including gems like "Uncommon Chinese Surnames", "taking pictures at Niagara Falls", "No Honeymoon"

http://meurrensonimmigration.com/wp-content/uploads/Spotting-Fake-Marriages.pdf

Utterly racist and ridiculous

You probably just have all your documents... I think it's better to hear nothing as that means they have everything they need!
What's your app filed date? I think you forgot it on your profile information.

I've sent our application on Sept. 5 to Mississauga. ECAS says: application received on Sept. 12.
I hope your wright lleahdoll! Thanks for your encouragement.

You may even hear something before me! If they haven't contacted you yet for additional or missing documents...

I just called the call centre to see if I could weasel anything out of them. But all I could get was a confirmation that my CSQ I sent on May 5th is attached to my file. So that's a relief!
